Publisher's Summary

In the majestic halls of a crystal palace lies a secret that could destroy an entire kingdom....

Bryn Aven refuses to give up on her dream of serving the kingdom she loves. It's a dream that brings her to a whole new realm...the glittering palace of the Skojare. The Skojare people need protection from the same brutal enemy that's been threatening the Kanin, and Bryn is there to help. Being half Skojare herself, it's also a chance for her to learn more about her lost heritage. Her boss Ridley Dresden is overseeing the mission, but as their undeniable attraction heats up, their relationship is about to reach a whole new level - one neither of them is prepared for.

As they delve deeper into the Skojare world, they begin to unravel a long-hidden secret. The dark truth about her own beloved Kanin kingdom is about to come to light, and it'll change her place in it forever...and threaten everyone she loves.

I love this series of books.

This book had so many twists and turns I couldn't stop listening. I was so sad to see that the book did not last very long . I was so impressed with this book I bought the next in the series. This book was fantastic let's hope the next is even better.

part2

I think this book is a little better than the first one but I also think these series of three books could have been joined in just one. I don't see why they separated them. Neither the first one or this one had an "end" . not even a cliffhanger, each of them finished as any of the other chapters did

Amanda Hocking does it again

Who do you trust and who is your enemy? This is the second book in the Kanin serie and it pick's up right where the first left of. This one has lots of plots in it and you really have a hard time putting the book down because you just want to know what happens next. It's beautiful written and I just have to read the last now.

Good story

First book is slow to start but going on and into book 2 the narrator gets better and so does the story. Well worth the slow start

Not... that great

So I feel like the author has no faith in her audience. We get explained characters multiple times within a couple chapters. Yes. We know that this dude is a member of the guard and a friend to Casper. You told us that last chapter. We KNOW the king isn’t exactly talkative, stop telling us every time he opens his mouth. She talks down to us and it’s kind of... exhausting.

Easy Reading

These book are so easy to consume, and I also enjoyed this one. It did feel a bit more all over the place than the first book, but not necessarily in a bad way. I think the plot is just a bit more random for this story, though I almost didn't notice, as I enjoyed the characters so much.

When you read all 3 books back to back, it's a bit difficult to think of them as separate books, rather than one really long story. If you asked me to tell you at what point book one ends and book two begins, I couldn't.

Overall, I'm still enjoying this. I went straight on to book 3, and the audiobooks are excellent.
