This book is an excellent narrative which supports looking inward to what you are willing to tolerate, why you believe you should put up with that behaviour and how to recognise and name the types of abuse. The book provides fundamental nformation to recognise if you are suffering at the hands of someone with pathology which makes any really change almost impossible and will hopefully equip readers with the ability to see red flags early and get out of harms way.

I just we listed to this book in one hit and plan to go back and listen again in smaller chunks to properly absorb it. As a woman who has recently left a relationship with a “sex addict” and has a string of bad relationships under my belt…this book resonated so much with me!

It can feel like a slap in the face, as it really does make you look at your part in it all, and I don’t mean in any victim blaming way, I mean in the most empowering sense. If we don’t see our part in landing ourselves here, and we are helpless then we will most likely find ourselves here time and time again. So it’s about learning to recognise red flags before we get involved. When we are ourselves with awareness we can enter into everything eyes wide open and fully consenting.

It also helped me understand why I’ve previously missed red flags completely or why I had ignored them. This is where the work begins for me.

This book is an absolute game changer!

I found this book very informative. It contains information about all sorts of relationships...not just violent relationships and I highly recommend it for all women.

I found this book quite frustrating and lacking insight at times. I think the author grossly underestimates the power of dangerous men at masking their true intent until they have a woman trapped in a relationship with circumstances that make leaving very difficult. For me, the book didn't highlight any information or warning signs that would be easy to decipher when initially starting to date. What I did learn from this book was to slow down and lead the dating process until the mask drops. it does discuss establishing boundaries and women listening to their internal warning signs. As a result I think I benefitted from this book and would be less inclined to give a man the benefit of the doubt in any dating scenario. I may die alone! Despite my frustrations with this audiobook and the fact it almost blames women for men's violence and aggression, it is worth the read.
