About this listen
Animals are the direct product of their environment. They reactively evolve over time based on external circumstances. The process of their evolution is slow and random. Human beings are the indirect product of their environment. Although the environment is the medium through which humans adapt and evolve, our choices determine our environments. This is the fundamental difference. We get to decide the course and intensity of our personal evolution by intelligently designing our environments. By purposefully embracing difficult environments, and by cultivating highly conscious habits, you will actualize as a human being and experience complete freedom over the direction of your life.
©2016 The Thought & Expression Co. (P)2016 Audible, Inc.The author also quotes Covey: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People a few times, and I find Covey book to be a better comprehensive source. I feel I've of the reasons he enjoys Covey, though, is due to faith, which I will get to next.
There are some excellent suggestions within the book, but it gets distracted by the author talking about how great his faith is, and what it means to him. Woven throughout are references to prayer, where meditation would be just as effective. The author also laments the lack of faith in these times, which is a reflection on his inability to connect with me, and many others, as readers. The message, unfortunately, is lost as a result when it need not have been.
I'll definitely listen again when I review at a future date how some of the tips are progressing, but there are better Audiobooks on the subject out there.
