Publisher's Summary

USA Today best seller B.V. Larson and Dragon award finalist David VanDyke have released book six in their epic military space opera!

The Breakers find a new home among the stars: Utopia. An engineered planet that is vast beyond comprehension with plenty of room to grow. They set up trade routes and work as mercenaries for their supplies...but trouble lurks.

Pirates strike their merchant lanes. Key personnel are captured and enslaved. Straker is called upon to do something, and thus a new conflict is set in motion.

Don’t miss Hell’s Reach, a wild thrill ride of combat and intrigue among the stars. This new novel of military science fiction is the sixth book in the Galactic Liberation series. Look for book number one, Starship Liberator if you’re new to this expanding universe.

Did not like the concepts presented

This series is taking a turn for the dark side. When technology allows human life becomes extendible then the choice should be to reject that tech, not embrace it. At this rate this will just be a darker version of Larson’s Undying series.

Plus, there’s a sub theme of romantic angst. Long sections of people feeling inadequate and of love conquering all. Don’t want to read a harlequin space romance!

Deja vu all over again

Having just finished the sixth book in this series I'm convinced (although I wish it wasn't so) that its stuck in a twilight zone...between a good story and author malfeasance. It brings up some interesting ideas, but covers them up with "sludge" and cliches. Although the narrator's performance is excellent, it cannot "make a silk purse from a sow's ear". Sorry, but I don't recommend this series.

Lost it’s way

I think BV is one of the geniuses in SciFi. I do however think this book lost it’s way. It was hard to follow the extension of the storyline from the 5 previous books.

good, lightweight ear candy

follows the formula of the series.
narration is excellent as usual.
I wish B V Larson would try something new though.
always a dimple chinned, man of action, irresistible to women, all of his risky gambits pay off, constantly hurling verbal abuse at his robot/alien genius sidekick it's fun but gets repetitive.

Political ending

Good story prior to the last chapter.

Last chapter is a rambling about how a democracy on earth needs to be set up and peace imposed on its citizens etc.

Glad the story isn’t over

Really good ending and content. Precious book had me confused. Getting strong undying mercenary vibes though in this book! Careful not to copyright yourself BV.

terrible. too much PC woke culture

simple plot, but too much woke culture narratives. when did straker become such a soft whiny hero?
Sad way to end a book series from a previously good author. nice job breaking the world you spent 5 books building.

Not Larson’s best work.

Long winded with notes of Harlequin Romance in this submission. Not as much fun as previous books in the series.

A severe disappointment

The last 3 chapters of this book make me regret the time of listening to the 5 previous books. As of right now I don't think I'll read any other from the authors.
