Publisher's Summary

Heart

Crystal, my wife, old lady, and soul mate, is dead. There’s no way to survive, nothing for me to live for. All I want to do is to join her. I don’t want to take my own life, but if someone does it for me, so much the better. She shouldn’t have died, she shouldn’t have left me. My love for her fueling such an uncontrollable rage, it won’t be long before I upset the wrong person. I already have, but my club did me no favor, only banishing me instead of killing me.

Now here I am, a solitary biker out on the road with no brothers behind me, my only company—the ghost of my old lady. Then the cop starts calling me. And I start to live for those calls. My Prez would kill me if he knew I was talking to the detective, but somehow I can’t stop. Police and outlaw motorcycle clubs cannot—and do not—mix.

Marc

I rang to update him on the investigation into Crystal’s murder, my only concern to give the biker closure for the death of his wife. I didn’t expect to be talking to someone who was suicidal, nor that I would have to expose the loss in my own life to talk him down from the ledge.

I didn’t expect we’d become friends. I’m a cop, the natural enemy of the Satan’s Devils MC. They hated me when I called on them to help Heart, but if I couldn’t involve them, he’d end up dead. If it wasn’t for me, he’d no longer be breathing. But cops and bikers don’t mix. Feelings don’t even come into it. Even our friendship must come to an end.

This is a story of the process of grieving with violent and sexy scenes that may be upsetting to some listeners and should therefore not be listened to by anyone under the age of 18.

not as intense as I thought but still brilliant.

I definitely get my guessing game
all mixed up with manda's
Books. I didn't think Slicks Story was going to add up to much, but boy, was I surprised. Then I thought heart was going to tear me in two, but the emotions came a little easier than I thought it was going to be.
Heat's story was indeed gut wrenching and and I was wondering how Marc was going to get through to him.
The plot line drew out nicely with wonderful, sad purpose
and it also allowed me and the characters to get to know each other so as to make a more believable story come to light.
Old enemies come back into the Fray, and the storyline takes an unusual twist when 2 enemies must become become a one working unit.
I enjoyed hearing our English friends re appearing as well as Zoe and her husband and friends. Their appearance did indeed add to the suspense of the plot.
I did note that as much as the story had an ending, there are 1 or 2 names still out there, which I'm sure will come to light it i we continue through the series.
Manda shows the listener that there are ways to move through losing a loved one and cleverly hints to what we all know as the 7 stages of grieving.
The way the story weaves these 2 characters together over time, is not only giving the plotline time enough to be plausabile, but a perfect structuring for the H and h to grow close enough to recognise they are both broken souls in need of healing.
The MC tends to keep its strength and grittiness without losing its integrity or having the appearance of going soft.
The angst and mystery is still strong. hotness is still strong. The loving is the loving is hot, the children adorable, and now we add Grunt.
Although not as unbearable as Darts woman and her story, this was a gentle yet subtle falling of of a beloved brother and a new h that never thought they could be redeemed.
Logan and Sierra both did a brilliant job with their narration, The way they bring the voices the voices 2 do Internet wave wave with the characters just just brings them to life in my mind in my mind and I am so lucky I get to hear them few More times in this series.
Simply put, just another great installation. Thank you manda and im looking forward to Pegs story
