Publisher's Summary

Peg

I’ve never been one to use the sweet butts like my brothers. I’ve waited for someone who’s special, the woman who’ll ride with me through life.

I’ve sat back and watched as one by one my brothers are being pulled away from their whoring ways, finding their old ladies and leaving their bachelor life behind with no regrets.

That’s all I’ve ever wanted. Someone to be mine.

I’m 37 years old, sergeant-at-arms of the Satan’s Devils MC, and I still haven’t found that one woman. The clubhouse is filling with babies--even the prez has his son. Will I ever find what I’m looking for? Somewhere out there, is there someone for me?

Darcy

I’ve fought for my place in this world. I’m a firefighter, capable of doing my job just as well as any man. But I’m a woman, and the unexpected violence toward me came as a shock. I acted on my impulse to run. And that’s when Peg came to the rescue and immediately took charge.

At first, I didn’t fight the strange attraction between us, but soon I’m forced to make choices. How can I give up the career I’ve worked so hard for, for a man I’ve only just met? Sure, the sex is off the scale, but being with Peg will just cost me so much.

As things heat up around the clubhouse, I’ve got some decisions to make.

NB. This book contents scenes of violence, abuse, and sex and is intended for an over 18 audience only.

Manda where were your thoughts while writing this

Manda, manda, manda, this one just didn't grab me.
I couldn't relate to Darcy, she is just hot, cold. I'm in, I'm out I'm weak, I accept I'm weak, I hate I'm weak, I want my job, I want peg, I want a family future, I want to be a promoted fire-fighter...gah!!
I must admit I cringed and roiled when the crazy finally got his way and jumped up and down when peg didn't know.
I couldn't understand why Darcy didn't want to know the crazys end game. I kept yelling at her to find out. Then for a fire-fighter her thinking/attitude seems to be...lacking, especially when addressing her crisis. Just couldn't grasp her thought pattern. Maybe if our h had a different profession or had a traumatic background I may have found some sympathy.
Then her injuries were a tad too lucky....
I believed Slicks book way more...being Ella was experiencing the same emotion. I just couldn't connect, I wanted to so much as I loooove this series but Darcy, for me, was too mercurial. And Peg is way too loveable to take the chop and change of Flash.
The MC is getting closer to out of the 1% outlaw and more into the acceptance by most townsfolk. And the introduction of Ma was funny and clever in regards to this sub plot. I'm wondering if it'll have an outcome. I also suspected that Manda may have pushed the plotline this way due to Darcy and her situation/dilemma.
Then I thought the crazy may have been connected to past antagonists which had me smiling. However, this antagonist was totally different and unfortunately, everything he did and got away with was too easy...making all our H's, in this plotline, appear a bit naive and left me feeling it wasn't as convincing. I know this happens in reality but sadly, its just not plausible enough for me as I so love Peg and for me, I felt he deserved better.
In the end I again shook my head as once again h did a Manda, manda, manda, this one judt didn't grab me.

In the end I again shook my head as once again h did a complete change up, all this over her emotional default and I almost couldn't listen. And then...more chaos and mayhem..how much can this h go through?
All this Is not to say I won't keep listening as I love Mandas writing and the next book rolls to one of the men.
Logan and Sierra.... Sublime as always. I just really enjoy Sierra's male voice, it just works for me.
