Braden men (swoon)

Another Amazing book my Melisa Foster. The Braden men are all sweet and loving alpha males. Once they fall in love your done for.

BJ Harrison does an amazing job with this book.

The book is worth the credit it can be read as a series or stand alone.

Love heals all wounds...

Another great story by Melissa Foster….

Jewel Fisher could never be his… Nate Braden has loved her and wanted her for years but she was younger and also the sister of his best friend, Rick. Those two things alone were enough to keep him from pursuing her but now that Rick is gone, he is even more determined to not move ahead with his feelings.

Nate came home from the war, but Rick did not and survivor’s guilt wracks Nate’s soul. He was the officer who sent Rick on his last mission and he cannot forget that.

Jewel’s life centers on her family… taking care of all the details of her younger siblings lives in order to help out her mother. She does not have time for romance or a boyfriend… but if she did, Nate would be the one for her. A schoolgirl crush has grown into so much more now that she is an adult and Nate is back in town.

But they share the sorrow of losing Rick and that is a barrier between them. Bit by bit their walls begin to crumble and their souls are healed. Can they find love at last? “Healed by Love” is just what is says… their souls were made whole again by love.

BJ Harrison is a talented narrator... his voice is easy to listen to and he does a great job of drawing the listener into the story.

So many emotions

*** 4.5 stars ***

I've always been fond of the best friends little sister or older brother's best friend (only difference is the perspective) and this one does not fail. Jewel's older brother was Nate's best friend until he was killed in action. Everyone knows that Jewel and Nate love each other, but neither is willing to act on it. Now, two years later, they still won't act on it, but for different reasons.

Nate is harboring guilt. Survivor's guilt and the fact that he was the commanding officer that sent his best friend on his final mission that cost him his life. What will Jewel think of him when he tells her that he was the one who sent her brother to his death?

Jewel is so afraid of losing people she loves, she refuses to love anyone other than her family. First she lost her father. Then her brother. She guards herself and her siblings from anything that could potentially harm them. Unfortunately, her siblings are starting to resent her for it. She has built up walls so she can't be hurt again by loss. Will Nate be able to break down those walls and open her up to love?

As always, BJ Harrison does a great job of portraying another Braden. But I really enjoyed his heartfelt portrayal of Jewel. The walls, the fear, the anger. So many emotions in this book.

Loved everything about this couple

Audiobook:  Narrator - B.J. Harrison

Another amazing narration by Mr. Harrison.  With the ability to pull me emotionally into the story, I was completely caught up in this book.  I loved the excitement, edge of drama and wit that he gave to each and every one of the characters.

While this had a higher angst, it did not consume the story.  Both Nate and Jewel had issues to deal with that related to her brother’s death so I was expecting it to be pretty heavy.  It was actually pretty well balanced with the relationship drama, family issues and working through Rick’s death.

I loved that Nate had been in love with Jewel for years.  Everyone pretty much knows it except for her.  He was so sweet and gentle with her, but knew when to give her the little push she needed.

I consider this to be a bit o a slow burn.  Although this couple do have a few physical moments, they did not consummate their relationship until very close to the end.  It was all pretty much perfect, in my opinion.

New Braden’s!

This story is a one two punch. Nate is the best friend of a big brother .....but he is also the one who had to make tough choices.

The narrator makes this story very peaceful even when it is breaking your heart a bit.

Nate and Jewell

Nate Braden has been in love with Jewell Fisher for a very long time. The only problem is, she is his best friends’ sister. Nate and Rick served in Afghanistan together when a snipper takes Rick’s life on a mission given to him by Nate. Now Nate lives with survivor’s guilt.

After the death of her father and then her brother, Jewell has stepped in to help her mother with her younger siblings. She is a little over the top with her overbearing, paranoid ways; so much so that she does not have a life of her own. As Nate and Jewell confess their feelings for one another, will Jewell be able to forgive Nate when he finally reveals that the mission that got Rick killed was handed down by him. Will Nate forgiven himself so that he and Jewell will be able to find their HEA?

Kleenex will prove to be a necessity.

Healed By Love captured all of the elements of romance. Unrequited love, heartbreak, coming of age, second chances and loss. Minute by minute, hour by hour, heartache by heartache, I fall deeper under the spell of Melissa Foster. From the joy of first love to the heartbreak of loss, Healed by Love bares it's pain to find redemption. Foster has created a classic love story with modern day drama. From Foster's heart to Harrison's voice, Kleenex will prove to be a necessity. Never ceases to amaze me how she can take an emotional story and make you feel so much while on the journey. Yet always leave you with a smile knowing that her characters have overcome all obstacles and found their way.

Nate had loved Jewel for years . . .

Nate Braden had been in love with his best friends sister. The best friends he sent out to die. The best friend that he loved like a brother. Nate Braden was doing his job. The very job that took away something/someone very precious to him and the family he left back at home.

I loved this one because Nate carried a burden. You could see it with the words he said and the actions he took or did not take. Jewel was his bright star. She was his reason to move forward each day. I could feel the passion, desire, and see the heat dancing between the two of them. The loved showed there was nothing with ages but the number assigned to them.

B.J. Harrison delivered the audio. I enjoyed it be did not feel like it was a decision maker for how the story rated with me.

Beautiful Story!

This is the first book in the Bradens at Peaceful Harbor Series. This is a great friends to lovers/best friend's sister/second chance to love story. I loved Nate and Jewel's story. They share a beautiful chemistry. Their story is emotional, and after some up and down, I love how they healed together. BJ Harrison did a great job with the narration.

Friends to Lovers

This is Nate and Jewel's love story, that started way before they realised they loved each other.Nate is back home after leaving the army and coming home with a loud of guilt after the death of his best friend and the brother of the woman he loves.
Jewel can't move forward with her life because of the death of her father and brother. When Jewel injures herself and Nate rescues her that sets of the beginning of their love affair. Through each other they begin to move on with building a life together. Great story with side characters who get their own stories. Love the narration from BJ Harrison.
