About this listen

The New York Times best-selling aftermath of Halo: Combat Evolved featuring the Master Chief - part of the expanded universe based on the award-winning video game series!

It's 2552. The theocratic military alliance known as the Covenant is showing no mercy as it continues to assault every human world it encounters, but in the way lies humanity’s greatest champion, the supersoldier Spartan John-117 - the Master Chief. Together with his AI companion Cortana and the last remaining Spartans, the galaxy-spanning fight rages on two fronts following the destruction of the human military stronghold Reach by Covenant forces and the mysterious artificial ringworld known as “Halo” at the hands of the Master Chief.

One faction - a squad of Spartans lead by Blue Team’s Fred-104 and Kelly-087 - is trapped on the glassed surface of Reach, the only planet they’ve ever known as home. Beneath this ruined world, Dr. Catherine Halsey has discovered an ancient secret...one that could alter the course of the war. Meanwhile, the Master Chief and Cortana lead a second group toward a gathering of Covenant warships, as the United Nations Space Command’s worst nightmare has finally come true: The Covenant has discovered the location of Earth and is forming a massive fleet to utterly destroy it, as well as all who oppose the indomitable will of the Prophets....

If you can get over hearing the 'w' in 'sword' and the 'j' in Mjölnir pronounced every time, very good performance.

Good narrations, very enjoyable book for anyone interested in Halo. I have listened to a number of the Halo books and this certainly rates up there with the best of them.

Excellent, entertaining, engrossing

Only a few gripes, and most of them if not all are just how a few words are pronounced. the overall performance is stellar for capturing the feel of already established characters, their tone not just in conversation but even during moments of introspection.
Definitely a good pace of action and world building to keep you invested in both.

Amazing pace for events after Halo

Read the physical version a very long time ago, and it was amazing then, still amazing now. If you are a Halo Fan and have only played the games, this will fill you in on a lot of the content you've missed.

Amazing

The voice acting was perfect and the story was very clear. I missed so much reading it the first time and caught it this time around. Excellent listen.

Voice was perfect

He's a good narrater but it stands out like Dogs 🏀🏀 when he says Sword, someone needs to tell him that the W is silent, as in Sawed.

The W is SILENT

I finally know what happens to the Chief and his team between Halo's 1 and 2!
Also the narrator does an amazing Master Chief- John 117 impersonation.

It just kept getting better..
