It's Brody's big day. He has the opportunity to pitch his movie idea to legendary movie studio head, Zachary Effing Johannessen. His movie idea is that of a young writer stuck repeating the same day trying to win his movie pitch about a writer stuck in Groundhog Day.

Brody's pitch is turned down. He drowns his sorrows at a local pub where he meets and falls in love with Rose.
