Publisher's Summary

The internationally beloved novel by dream literary collaborators and internationally bestselling writers, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Soon to be a massive new TV launch on Amazon Prime Video and the BBC, a series written and show-run by Neil himself and starring David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Jon Hamm and Miranda Richardson, to name but a few.

There is a hint of Armageddon in the air. According to the Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (recorded, thankfully, in 1655, before she blew up her entire village and all its inhabitants, who had gathered to watch her burn), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact.

So the Armies of Good and Evil are massing, the four Bikers of the Apocalypse are revving up their mighty hogs and hitting the road, and the world's last two remaining witchfinders are getting ready to Fight the Good Fight. Atlantis is rising. Frogs are falling. Tempers are flaring, and everything appears to be going to Divine Plan.

Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon are not particularly looking forward to the coming Rapture. They've lived amongst Humanity for millennia, and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle. So if Crowley and Aziraphale are going to stop it from happening, they've got to find and kill the AntiChrist (which is a shame, really, as he's a nice kid). There's just one glitch: someone seems to have misplaced him.

better off reading it

good story but the audio book changes scenes without the break in the page to help you know and it can be a bit confusing keeping up... would highly suggest to read this over listen

Fantastic performance of a fantastic fantasy novel

The book itself itself is wonderful, although it is an acquired taste. At first I wasn’t all that thrilled with the narrator, but he soon grew on me, and I now think he was the perfect narrator.

In fact I relistened to the first chapter and I now think he was amazing.

Ultimately I would absolutely recommend this book. It’s amazing!

Fun mayhem

Loved this book. The narration was really fun to follow even when the story itself went a little off the rails.

Highly recommended

Ok, so never read anything by these authors before (shocking, I know right). I watched the show and thought might be ok, might be worth a try. OMG, so loved this. I am a big Douglas Adams fan and this reminded me so much of him. The narrator does a great job of bringing this to life. Clever and funny, definitely going to go back for a relisten.

Really Funny

This book was really, really funny. It was a combination of absurdist humour and dry wit which I typically enjoy and it had me snorting when I was listening to it in the car.
Crowley and Azirapheal were my favourite characters (of course), I just wish we actually got to spend more time with them through the entire book.
The beginning and end were great, but I was starting to get a little bored through the middle section. I was interested in Adam and Anathema, I just don’t think their storylines were interesting enough to fill out the amount of page time they got. I also had a bit of a difference between expectations and reality that took me a while to adjust to.
Other than this, I really enjoyed this book. The plot was funny and interesting and the ending really picked up the pace, although I do understand why some people think it’s anticlimactic.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will continue my mission to read all of Gaiman’s works (I might even have to add Pratchett to the list).

Ineffably Hilarious and Devilishly clever!

A laugh out loud commentary on society that you instantly want to share with your friends. A perfect mix of fiction and intelligent apocalyptic banter that delivered everything I had hoped for in a Pratchett/Gaiman love child. My only disappointment is not discovering it earlier!
