What do you do when positive thinking stops working? Really, I’m serious. If you have ever tried being really positive while playing golf, you may have experienced some success, but what do you do when you start playing poorly? It is very hard to keep positive when you have no idea where the ball is going. I tried the positive thinking route myself and when things got tough the only explanation for my poor performance was that I was not being positive enough. There had to be more to it than that I thought, so I went about trying to discover the truth about how our mind gets in the way of good performance. What I found, changed the way I played and coached golfers forever.

I am sharing my techniques with you, having practiced them with golfers of all abilities for the last ten years.

The key skill that you will learn to improve is the skill that underpins peak performance in every walk of life: relaxed concentration. Golfers and golf commentators often talk about focusing well and good concentration, but there is little information about how to improve and perfect relaxed concentration, a skill that all agree is a prerequisite for good golf.

This is not popular golf psychology. I will not encourage you to sit in a chair, close your eyes, and imagine yourself playing really well. If you want the positive thinking route then don’t buy this audiobook. I only deal with reality. It’s very good

I haven’t only audioed this book several time, I’m doing my best to live some of its lessons.
I feel my golf game is getting better. and even if it isn’t, my enjoyment of playing the game has.

slightly different take on golf psychology.

I have listened to many golf psychology books. Usually they all have the same narrative. this book takes a slightly different approach which I much enjoyed.

Sleeper

This audio book is probably best to be read. The narrator’s voice is borderline monotone. Slow pace of reading makes it difficult to follow without dozing off because it’s very slow and deep tone. I would Not recommend this audiobook, perhaps reading the actual book would be better.

Equanimity!

There are a least 12 very important takeaways that you must incorporate on the mental side that a player uses during a game. Swing the club and watch your ball land where you planned it to land!

One of the best books I have got in a long time

Great story telling! I really loved the tone of the narration I felt it went well with the whole overarching point of the book. Very good perspective and tips to use on the golf course that has actually been improving my play!

Excellent instruction.

Really benefited from “Golf Psychology”! I am an amateur and tried for years to consistently break 100. Probably over 100 lessons.

Practicing his principles I scored 45 on 9 holes by clearing my mind and trusting my swing. What is more important I enjoy the game much more.

Worthy of listening over and over again.

How many of us have great swings and can play well when on the course alone. The minute there is pressure or someone is looking, it often falls apart. Golf Psychology has helped me to understand my biggest weakness is not my swing, but my mind. I often listen to specific chapters prior to heading out to the course. It helps tremendously and I would recommend this book to any golfer who knows he or she is having trouble getting past the anxiety that golf often can bring.
I look forward to the post Covid time when I can get a personal lesson from him.

A must listen for the avid golfer

I really enjoyed this book. I have read and listened to a variety of mental golf books, but this one really makes sense. I had a competition match in the middle of this book and used the observation and thought clearing tools that I had learned up to that point, and had one of the best mental rounds in 15yrs. I'll revisit this book frequently.

Nowhere near as good as Bob Rotella.

First 4 chapters boring as dull ditch water.
Unexciting narration by the author did NOT help. They should have paid for a professional narrator.
Gave up and deleted part way through chapter 6.
Maybe others will buy in to it...but definitely not for me, sorry.

Change your attitude, change your game

Game changing book. Dont listen to the negative reviews and comparisons with Bob Rotella, what is included in this book is gold dust. Cant recommend highly enough

Change your mind
