About this listen
Book 1 of the Demon Accords.
Chris Gordon is a rookie with the NYPD - one with a secret. In his spare time Chris is an exorcist without equal, with a gift from God. But when he saves a beatiful girl from a demonic attack, he discovers there is more to fear than just demons. Finding himself surrounded by vampires and were-weasels and facing a giant short-faced bear, Chris struggles to stay alive, all while protecting his deadly new girlfriend. And then there's her overprotective vampire mother!

The synopsis read as having a lot weirdness going on and there is but it’s delivery is really well balanced. The craziness of were-weasels etc actually fit well and didn’t read as immature as I thought it was going to.
Really interesting story and fantastic narration. Have already downloaded book two.
So glad I gave it a go!

I feel the narrator doesn't quite capture the right emotion of the character at times. However, James is clear, concise in his pronunciation and has a timbre that is mellow to listen to.
Looking forward to the next!

The narrator has great pacing, vocal control and presence, but the character voices are pretty lacking, especially the female ones, even in comparison to other male narrators doing female voices.
if you can forgive an ungodly amount of cheesy caricature characters, you might still enjoy the story. I struggled to finish it after what felt like a promising start.
Extremely one dimensional
