Warner spent his days like no one else. He got up, went to work, forced people to balance their scales - either through taking lives or forced penance - went home, spent time with his daughter, slept with one of his girlfriends, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was the furthest thing from mundane that it could ever be.

Love the story and the narrator
- By Anonymous User on 18-01-2022
Publisher's Summary
Demon Accords, number 17.
Chris Gordon and Tanya Demidova are the world's top close quarters battle experts. As fast and powerful as elder vampires, with supernatural weapons that match their supernatural speed, strength, and senses. But how does a close quarters warrior fight an enemy that is literally light years away - 25,000 light years away?
It would take one hell of a ranged weapon, something that can cross unimaginable distances with unfathomable power. Something...or...someone. Hmm, but witch is best?

I love this series, but...
The Demon Accords is one of my favorite series, and this is a solid addition, but... there are a few things I dislike about how the story is developing. One, I don't like how it has become more the Declan Accords, and he seemingly had become more powerful than the two main heroes of the story, so powerful that he defeats the enemy single handed, leaving me to wonder why even have the other characters in this story involved at all. There is this build up of anticipation to this great battle with this devasting enemy that never happens and is anti-climatic because Declan wipes them out with a single spell. I still enjoyed most of the book and will continue to read and follow the series.

Lackluster
I love this series, I really do, but......this book was boring!!!! This should have been an optional story like a Book 6.5 or such. I love the characters but they need a worthy foe. Our favorite warlock has reached a level of godlike power, which is cool. Chris is simply amazing and my favorite character, as always, but they are wasted if they don't have a true struggle that test thier abilities. An invading force can be annihilated with a thought and, if not magiked away, Chris can chop them up pretty nicely. The next villain needs to be truly impressive as well as charismatic! Every personality in this book seemed very bland in comparison to previous installments of the series and I think that is because in those stories the characters were pushed to limit. I will define reading the next installment, but if that story lacks a villain that exceeds the heroes, then I'll be very disappointed.
Thor needs Loki. Batman needs the monsters of Gotham. Harry Dresden needs evil gods/fallen angels. heroes need villain that challenge and push them.

jeez leave the warlock alone
So the book was good and the performance was as well but there are 2 points that made me give the story and overall 2 stars.
First of all good Lord give Declan a break already. No matter how many past experiences, new experiences, assurances or anything else including everytime he is the sole reason everyone is alive at all anymore, they never stop basically looking at him and talking about him like he's a dangerous wild insane animal with a nuke. It's getting tiresome that besides his wolf and omega, no one really trusts him not to go bad.
Second problem I had is that aside from some for lack of a better word, technical changes related to using magic and powers, nothing really is advanced in the story all that much.

I Love this series!
I was so anxious to get this newest novel and I couldn't wait to hear my favorite characters come to life with the excellent narration of Jame Patrick Cronin! My only complaint was that the book was too short and now I'm waiting for the next to follow. I love the way the author has weaved the story together and once again begin introducing the background characters into the forefront once again. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the fight to unravel into the story line and I was NOT disappointed. Love this series, love the narrator and if you like the Demon Accords series, this one will not disappoint.

Starting to get a bit bored
While I really do enjoy this series, it is starting to get a bit ridiculous that they are so overpowered that no one on earth can ever hope to challenge them. Declan’s powers keeps growing and there’s no end in sight to what he can accomplish. They all sit on this lofty seat deeming what is important for mankind. Well what’s the point of other people if they can run everything perfectly? I have to be honest, while I did enjoy this book a part of me is getting a bit bored. They’re all so perfect. And the A.I. Don’t get me started. There’s no check and balance for him except for himself seeking the safety of humans and quite possible Declan? Something needs to shake this up because it’s been the same hum drum for a while.

Yes, too much fawning over Declan
I agree with other reviewers that all this Declan-worship is getting old; it's so over-the-top that it's just bad writing. Still, it was an entertaining story.
Here's something that I've been wondering since the first book: Does the author get product-placement fees from equipment manufacturers? The author always insists on using brand names and model numbers when describing weaponry or survival gear.

So invested in Series
The series is still okay but it feels like it’s all about Declan Stacia and Omega the best characters aren’t featured enough when this series was driven by Chris and Tonya we got to interact with everyone the series turned left and never righted itself please let us have more Chris and Tonya with Declan playing a supporting role instead of Chris Tonya as well as most of the cast of characters barely being mentioned and Appearing mainly Helpless and Weak in comparison to Declan Stacia and Omega
