Publisher's Summary

They say everything is fun and games until someone gets hurt. Well, someone did - and now the game has changed....

Emily Bennett works as a therapist in Pennsylvania, helping children overcome their troubled pasts - even as she struggles to forget her own. Once upon a time, Emily was part of a middle school clique called the Harpies - six popular girls who bullied the new girl to her breaking point.

The Harpies took a blood oath: never tell a soul what they did to Grace Farmer.

Now, fourteen years later, it seems karma has caught up to them when one member of that vicious circle commits suicide. But when a second Harpy is discovered dead shortly after, also from apparent suicide, the deaths start to look suspicious. And when Emily starts seeing a woman who looks a lot like Grace Farmer lurking in the shadows, she's forced to wonder: Is Grace back for revenge? Or is Emily's guilt driving her mad?

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but the Harpies are about to find out just how much words can hurt you.

Absolutely Awful

I am not sure if I have ever been more irritated by a book in my life. I couldn't wait for this to be over, and I can't believe I listened to the whole thing. This story tries wayyy to hard to make twists and turns, but every single twist was just plain stupid, implausible, and annoying. Old friends from middle school are dying, apparently by suicide, one at a time. They all have a common thing in their past. They took part in brutally bullying a girl. The main character is now a child psychologist and she's getting worried about her old friends. Weird things start happening and she gets in touch with the old gang (the ones who are still alive), to try and figure out who's playing tricks. The plot seemed interesting, but there are so many sub stories, twists, and stupid story lines, I found myself rolling my eyes and listening just to see how much worse it could get. Glad this was free... 2 stars

Incredible Read!

I couldn't put it down! Great unusual story, incredible narration by Cassandra Campbell, I highly recommend. I only read at night, and I sure had a few sleepless nights. Absolutely the best mystery plot to come by in a long time. Highly recommend. You won't regret.

Might have been good of not for the blasphemy

The narrator is good and the story started out captivating, but it wasn’t long before the blasphemy started. I’ve requested before that AUDIBLE advise if there are any blasphemy in a book, because now I have wasted a credit.

Good story

This was a good quick read, not as predictable as you may think. Had a dood solid ending and kept my interest throughout. The small side story with the boyfriend was a dead end and could have easily been left out without affecting the storyline. Also could have developed the Grace/Elise backstory a bit more.
