About this listen

Sexy, tattooed, and inevitably dangerous. Memphis is all that and more....

I live for the pain; it's what drives me to keep moving. But there comes a time when one has to push the demons aside in order to survive.

I thought I buried them deep. I thought I was ready to finally live. Until...my brother, Alex; he throws me into the fire - right into the place I could never control myself, the one place I never want to be again.

When I put my hands on people, they get hurt. Things happen that bring me back to that night. The one that will forever torment me.

I'm doing fine, keeping to myself in order to ensure no one gets hurt by me. Then along comes Lyric, and all I want to do is touch her, to put my hands in places that I know will only lead to her being crushed by me.

She's the rush that I crave. The darkest of poison running through my veins, killing me bit by bit; like a drug I can't get enough of even though I'm almost down to my last breath.

And being around her only hurts more, but what she doesn't understand is that I welcome the pain; I get off on it, which in the end leaves me with the hardest decision of my life - one that might get us all killed....

Author's note: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18. This is a stand-alone novel; more books with side characters can all be heard alone.

Good story, well written and nicely fleshed out main characters. Hot and steamy too!! Well worth a listen

Thoroughly enjoyable.

I enjoyed the storyline along with the little twist at the end and the plotline had a bit more depth than some of the stories I've listened to along these lines.
my only negative unfortunately is the male narrator.
I've turned from other series midway when the narrator changed to this man. he has a nice natural voice which I don't mind but he's interpretation of a female voice.....oh geez, talk about killing the vibe.
they sound cheap and nasty..which works for a few side characters but not for the strong female lead...all I can say is thank goodness for Abby Craden.
i have to admit Alex does the different male voices in the story really well so he isn't totally awful...just the females..🥴

great story good writing

I think this might have been a good book but I just couldn't get past the narration. I genuinely rolled my eyes every single time the male narrator voiced a female part - terrible!!! I wish Audible had a feature to block or highlight narrators that you didlike so you don't waste your time and money.

I will check out the authors other work to see if she used the same narrators.

Oh dear

Nice story but the narrators were not suited to reading romance. It was hard to listen sometimes. I will give these info ok a go as the narrators are much better.

Nice story

get the tissues ready. you're going to need them.
where do I even start with this one.
it's so incredibly well written and will keep you captivated.
It really was hard to put down. The narrators are great although Alexander doing the female characters voice makes me giggle.
do yourself a favour and add it to your list. you won't regret it.

incredible and intense
