About this listen

Tempting, inked, and highly addictive. Alex is all that and more....

I've made a lot of mistakes - ones I'm not proud of, and definitely ones that have left their marks both mentally and physically.

Things got lonely; I got lost in my own f--ked up mind and in the end it left me f--ked out of my mind and unable to fight - or at least win. That life's over for me and I've moved on.

Six months into tattooing at Blue's and already I'm the most wanted and sought-out tattooist. My biggest clientele consists of women. They come into the shop, end up in my bed, and we both come out happy. It's been my release since I've stopped fighting. It's become part of the "new" me. But when Tripp reappears in my life, I can't deny the fact that I would do anything for that girl.

So when she asks me to move in with her and her "boyfriend" - our other childhood friend - I never expected for things to get so f--ked up and twisted that I would find myself only more attracted to her by each passing second or wanting to protect her from everything that isn't me.

I have worked so hard over the years to suppress my feelings for her but when I find out that her and Lucas have been having an open relationship, I have the strong urge to rip his heart straight from his chest - to destroy the very thing that keeps him breathing.

What I didn't expect was for Lucas to ask what he did. For him to ask me to do the one thing I have secretly longed for since I was old enough to know what the need was. The second thing I never expected was the look of need that I saw in Tripp's eyes when he asked.

One night of free passion could change our lives forever. I never said that was a good thing either....

Contains mature themes.

This story is a friends to lovers/lovers triangle romance which I really enjoyed overall.

Keen to find out what was going to happen next with these fun and flirty characters, I had this audio version playing at every moment no one else was within earshot (I couldn't find my earphones!) I also really liked the side characters with their teasing banter, flirtatiousness and patient support for both Tripp and Alex in their quest for love

BUT...

This love story was draaaaaaaawn out

I found Alex's backstory slightly vague, especially whole itches ith his dad and brother and what happened between them.

The fact that Tripp and Alex are bff's, claim to have NO secrets and have their desires handed to them on a silver platter, nb0 www

A Tug-a-war of emotions

The narrators did a swoon worthy job of the characters. Especially with Alex. I couldn't stop listening. This has all the feels, leaving me smiling and satisfied with a full heart at the end.

What a difference good Narators make! I barely managed to get through the first book because of the male Narator's horrendous attempts at all of the Female voices; it literally had me rolling my eyes each time.

I wasn't going to read any more of Victoria Ashley's books but read a few reviews and decided the sequel was worth a shot. I'm so glad I did and am now off to look at some more.

So Much Better!

I didn’t realised I hated the miscommunication/lack of communication trope until this book, doesn’t meant it was bad I’ve just realised I’m not into that. Luckily though, the spice was nice and the narrators made it worth while in the end.

Narrators made the story

Great story

This is is a good follow up to the first book in the Pain series, although the storyline was slightly frustrating at times. I also find Joe Arden somewhat annoying to listen to- he has a way of making almost every line by females that he narrates sound the same, with a really annoying repetitive inflection in his tone.
But it was an enjoyable listen, and the characters are hot and the sex scenes steamy, so it was worth putting up with the minor annoyances over narration

Enjoyable listen

This was like reading a teenagers diary. The story was so predictable and unimaginative and unrealistic I could not stop rolling my eyes.
