Publisher's Summary

He wants to buy a sailboat and head off into the sunset for a life of adventure on white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue water, but she's not so sure about this wild plan. If she's not on board with the cruising dream, the boat won't leave the dock.

Your wife is more important to The Dream than any piece of cruising gear. Save yourself hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of life by investing both in to make sure she's on board.

There is a right way and a wrong way to Get Her on Board the cruising dream, and your author has done it both ways. Learn from his pain as well as his triumphs.

If you're dreaming of great adventures on the high seas and distant ports of call, but your wife would rather garden, you need to read this book!

Well done

Interesting book. The author did a lot of work and thinking about the subject and offers much useful cruising advice.

Totally a guy book. Do not let your wife near it!

Full of sound and well reasoned advice to help guys who want to get their wives onboard with the idea of going cruising. Feminists will hate it, so if you're one save yourself some rage and stay away. Women with a sense of humour will probably love it. Guys who are looking for some practical advice on how to influence their spouse in a painless way will totally enjoy this book. Presented in a light- hearted way and excellently narrated, the book is more than a sailing book. It's closer to being a study in applied psychology which uses the narrative of cruising as a base from which to deliver a lot of good advice. I loved it.

not as sexist as some would have you believe.

herein lies quite a bit of seemingly good advice not just 4 wanting to go sailing. There is quite a bit of advice here that will do you well in your everyday relationship, even on land.

not worth the time

What disappointed you about Get Her on Board?

Shallow and very condescending to "wives".Not just disappointing but unbearable. I returned it after the first few chapters.
