Publisher's Summary
Galaxy on Fire: Publisher's Pack contains Books 1 and 2 of the Galaxy on Fire series.
Embers, Book 1:
Jon Ryan was supposed to be dead. He wanted to be dead. But Jon wakes up in the far future with an alien burrowing in his chest for salvage. Someone was going to pay for this. Check that. Lots of people were going to pay for this. Jon was the first astronaut to download to an android host to find the population of doomed Earth a new home. But that was so long time ago. He is now literally lost in time.
The far flung future is dominated by an unstoppable species, the Adamant. They have conquered most of the galaxy. No civilization has successfully resisted them. Brutally efficient, selflessly devoted to their empire, and callous to all other forms of life, the Adamant have advanced without boundaries. But they are about to run into a major problem. One very pissed off Jon Ryan stands in their way. He escapes their prison ship, rescues two teenage shapeshifters, and intends to protect them at all costs. Jon, Mirraya, and Slapgren race across the galaxy always just one step ahead of disaster. But the combined evil forces that pursue them tear the trio apart. The teens must fend on their own in a hostile universe. All the while, Jon runs for his life, hoping against all hope to locate the teens. In a galaxy burning with war, genocide, and hidden magic, can Jon Ryan pull of one more miracle?
Flames, Book 2:
For Jon Ryan, it always seems to be the hard way. But he likes it like that. When he finally wins, it's all the more satisfying. A cataclysmic fight with his evil twin leaves Jon marooned on a desolate planet. He has no ship, no radio, and no one knows he's there. Meanwhile the shapeshifter teens are spirited to the court of the Adamant emperor himself. Malraff, his torture master, takes control of the teens and is bent on finding the secret of their ability to transform. She will do anything to find out the truth, and she will revels in their suffering.
Somehow Jon must find his way out of his imprisonment and rescue the teens. But will there be anything left for him to save even if he can escape? A galaxy on fire with the destructive conquests of the Adamant empire still stands between Jon and any for chance of success. Without allies, recourses, or any reason for hope, his only path is to release the darkness that he is capable of. But can Jon triumph and and still be worthy of that victory?

Overly American trashy novel
As someone else said in their review it’s a really purile storyline. If you can stomach the overuse of 21st Century American pop cultural references ( the author even managed to bring in Jesus to the storyline) its a good trashy sci fi novel with some humour.

A fantastic new start to the series!
This is series two, so if you haven't read any others, you should absolutely go back (it's worth it, they were phenomenal!). Anyway, I won't give any plot points away, I'll just say that this new series (Galaxy on fire) was so damned good! The action was intense and fast paced, the new setting and new characters were original and really sucked me back in to the Ryanverse. If you've listened to the other books, you know what you're getting.

2 billion year distraction
Love the story and the series, however, 2 billion year timeline is just rediculous. 200 years would be more credible given the stories narrative. I found myself being distracted thinking of all the reasons why 2 billion years just doesn't work and how different everything should have been given that time frame.

A Worthy Continuation
If you are a fan of the ryanverse, this publisher's pack is exactly what you were waiting for and what you need. For newbies, start with the Forever Series. The Author has managed to develop the universe of the series to the point where the outlandish happenings just... fit. The story hits its stride from the first chapter and does not let up. Not sure if the author took fan feedback or if it was just part of the natural progression of his writing process, but the story manages to perfectly balance tomfoolery with an ever-increasing sense of real tension. IMO, there are zero wasted words or scenes. Aiello embodies the diverse cast of characters perfectly. This addition cements the ryanverse in my top three audible series.

For kids
This is not a book for adults. It's silly, frustrating and just plain bad. Absolut standard scene is the protagonist "hacking" an AI by making silly, teenage-style annoying talk. Plotwise there ar not so much gaps as lack of any kind of logic. It's a book för kids, imaginative and silly, with bizarre creatures and over the top... well... Everything is over the top... If You are adult or intelligent, skip this.

I tried
first of all let's start on the positives. the narrator did a great job. there was a few scenes where I was dying laughing at the characters and how they interact but that's where it stops. my main problem is none of these characters are likeable the main character just wins when he shouldn't. I really wanted to like this book but I can't

Its funny and made me laugh many time but don't expect the story to make sense. the book end abruptly without a conclusion even for a book in a series. I liked the main character, but the little girl seem different to when he first met her. at first she's seems a child then a fiery teenager.

Left in mid-air... again!
What is it with these authors who think it's fine to sell you half a story and expect you to keep forking out for more of it? I get it that a series can be spread out over a number of books - Expeditionary Force by Craig Alanson is a perfect example, and a brilliant series. But in this case, each book is a discreet story and each book adds to the overall picture and a long term storyline. But with this book the storyline simply stops in mid-air! Pay the author more money and invest more time and you'll get to hear more. Well, no more! I'm fed up with being a cash cow for these people. This is not a TV soap opera. It's a good storyline and it's an ok narration, but I won't invest my hard earned with this guy again.

Good story but the quips and retorts are so good don't know why but the description is terrible for this book with several problems. Don't let the description put you off the book is brilliant and the narrator really captures the intent and attitude of the characters. If you like a certain beer can you will probably enjoy this too

interesting in the beginning but...
but boring at the end... I have already finished the whole series... 9 books...I must say, this on still ok but after this book everything start to be... boring... and then even more boring. I got tired of the God complex, the puritan mentality, the tendency of trying to get drunk (does the author has a drinking problem?), and I finished heating every time the author mention fighter pilot. every time that mention this it make me rolls my eyes, and it does a lot, I mean A LOT. It will become hard to believe that the American will choose a person line this to represent the American population (Ok they did choose Trump as president... so... maybe) the story will soon go to worst and worst and what the 3 first books was an ok read, later become hard to continue and forced me to take pauses listening o be able to handle the levels of stupidity and non sense. The first 3 books were ok, I think I even like them, so please don't continue. Stop!!, leave Ryan dead and move on to other books. If you continue you will have no choice than to read and see/listen how the authors run out of imagination and make Ryan more and more dump. I would like to add that learning /researching a bit of physics would help a bit... performance, no complaints a all. I think Scott Aiello does a great job and when gives a bit more life to the book than it really has.

This seemed like good value, but wasn't
I'm not going to spend too much time describing what I thought of this book but it just seems like this author is under contract to turn out a certain amount of output in a short contract period. I can't believe this is the same author that created The Forever series as his offerings now are just lazy and repetitive. For example, every time he need information about an adversary he just goes to some alien bar and bumps into a random character that knows exactly what he wants ! Come on, we deserve better if we're going to use our valuable credits on this pulp

Funny, smart and dashing!
I listened to this book thinking it was the beginning and was able to follow the story no problem. Only after did I discover the other three books explaining his past and I'm looking forward to hearing those. the story was quick and didn't linger, the characters were enjoyably individualistic and the voice acting was almost impeccable(some pronunciation mistakes but that's more a matter of personal taste than being incorrect). Being an Englishman I was impressed with the narrator's English accents which are extremely rarely done well by American voice actors(I assume he's American). I had a minor problem with how much time was taken up with the teens; I ended up skipping those chapters so I didn't get to frustrated waiting for Jon to show up. All said and done, fantastic story!

Lacking everything
This book was horrid. I forced myself to listen to half of it but I finally couldn't take it anymore. The characters are so shallow it's ludicrous. The narrator should really take lessons from R.C. Bray and learn to enunciate properly as well as actually apply the punctuations in the text when reading. Or just switch careers. The latter would probably be preferable. Don't buy this book. You'll regret it!
