Publisher's Summary

The best-selling, epic space adventure, Freedom's Fire: the complete series of six audiobooks, in one box set.

It was never a question of if the aliens would come, it was only ever when.

The first interstellar war, a generation ago, left humanity enslaved. Now, humans fight in the armies of their masters to save themselves from annihilation.

At least, that's what the propaganda insists is true. What the layers of lies keep hidden is how badly the new war is going for the people of earth.

Now, it's Dylan Kane's turn to blast into the heavens and join the battle, but what his masters don't know is that, by putting a weapon in his hands, they're giving him the key to unlocking his hopes of freedom.

When the rail-gun slugs are tearing through his ship and the vacuum is sucking the life out of his wounded friends, will Dylan's years of repressed rage turn into enough bravery to make his dream come true?

The Freedom's Fire series in this special edition includes:

  • Audiobook one: Freedom's Fire
  • Audiobook two: Freedom's Fury
  • Audiobook three: Freedom's Fray
  • Audiobook four: Freedom's Fist
  • Audiobook five: Freedom's Fall
  • Audiobook six: Freedom's Fate

A number one Amazon.com best seller in space marine science fiction.

Worth the time.

It took a full book to appreciate the narrators quirks and story telling but grew on me to want to finish the series. Would definitely listen to another episode of Troggs uniting with humans against the Greys as a possible continuation of the story... overall pretty good.

Great Story and enjoyed it

Only things i did not like where the bad guys being total incompetent assholes, that could not even wpie there own ass, yet were able to do so much damage. The main hero had everyone he ever met, dislike and mistrust him for no real reasons and had the worst luck in the universe. Luck so bad that by the 4th book, you could tell the outcome of ANY decision by guessing the worst outcome and then being right.

A great character driven story!

This series was fairly low on my "to listen to," list because it simply didn't grab me with its summery. But now that I've finally gotten around to listening to it, I really should have had this closer to the top of my list! The characters: From the very beginning, I felt the essence of each character as I feel they were meant to be imagined. That was aided by the excellent narration, but each character goes through their own unique journey of changing, growing, and forming relationships. The universe: The world we find ourselves in holds a lot of cliche's, but not so many it's bad, just enough to make it fantastic, in the midst of good story/world building. The Greys are an interesting take on the stereotype with some great and original evolutions, and I love how in one of the novels it bring up that the Greys had been visiting Earth for scouting for a long while before invading - Referencing all the great alien conspiracies. The Troggs were an awesome foe! At first they feel one dimensional in a way that feels right, as they are the primary invading force. As the story evolves, so do they. From faceless invader to something that you sympathise with. The narration surely tops off this great series. Every character felt unique, every mood expressed emotively.

Ok but not great.

the story was ok but hard to follow at times, seemed to jump around, making some sections bland. Good characters though.

Fantastic series I never knew I needed.

One of the better sci fi series I've come across. I love the way the main characters' basic telepathy and mind reading somewhat blurs the line between narrator and story dialogue. Bryce is my man, absolutely love that guy.

This is a great military space adventure.

Never wanted it to end! It's pretty much a man book, full of a$$ kicking band of space brothers. Smartly written with creative tactical planning. Very well read with gemreat character seperation so it's easy to follow. Loved it!

Best space opera since Battlestar Galactica

This tale hooked me and reeled me in without a fight. Greg Tremblay is fantastic. Made me laugh, frown, gasp. His first person narrative is exceptional. Mr. Tremblay's delivery is so believable that my tendency to correct an author's grammar was replaced with acceptance that this was the way the characters were talking and I only lamented their lack of schooling 😉

Great Space Opera at a bargain

This is a great book series if you love space opera Scifi. I feel bad spending so little for the entire series. It's that good. The main character is relatable, flawed, and lucky. Other characters are similar in their own way. Really glad I bought this.

Not Recommend.

The author has written a interesting world, unfortunately the characters are all pricks. I thought I'd give it time but I keep listening to it I enjoy it less and less. it's depressing, the characters hate each other and constantly squabble about stupid things. The main character is a prick, who keeps picking a fight with pretty much anyone he meets.

This was better than the reviews let on that it was.

I listen to a lot of books and this was a nice concept. I really enjoyed the first person perspective. The story takes a little while to flesh out characters ,but we get lots of character development as time passes. A pleasure to listen to as the miles go by on my commute. Thanks for a pleasant listen :)

I waited too long to start this. It's good stuff.

Compared to similar storylines that seem to come out regularly, this series requires only a reasonable suspension of disbelief and has some fairly strong character development to boot. Sure, there's magic technology that's better not questioned too deeply, and not all the physics is quite right -- but for for genre it is unusually well written and consistent. I'd read more if it continued.

Really great audio book

This is not the first book by Bobby Afair I have listened to. yet, in this book he displayed a wry humor which was missing from the one I listened to before. The story telling was really well done. Just the right mixture of action, storytelling and emotion. I really enjoyed this series

Action packed Sci-Fi with excellent narattion!

Excellent series, which highlights the importance of technological advancement and exploitation. Has noteworthy performance by narrator, able to bring each character alive with their distinct personalities.

Boys Own fun

I bought this box set more for the length than anything else, but was pleasantly surprised. Earth, subjugated by the Grey's has suffered 30 years of slavery and decline. Humans are a resource to be fought over and exploited but revolution is in the air. Can they defy the odds and win? This series is not as thought prevoking as the Expance or Altered Carbon nor is it as funny as The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or the Bobiverse. I did like it but didn't quite fall in love with the characters as they are not fleshed out enough for me. Greg Tremblay was very good, able to switch between characters without difficulty and to give each a unique voice. This series is worth a listen. The chapters are short, the story hangs together and if you like irony and self deprecation then this story will probably work for you.

Great Cheese!

If you like your cheese with an extra slice of cheese topped off with cheese spread then this book set is for you. Great entertainment you don't have to think too hard about with Greg Tremlay bringing to life all the chunky characters. Dillon Cane the all American average guy hero thrust into a war full of aliens, violence and sarcastic humour. Phil who reminds me of a cross between Peter Griffin and Rick Sanchez and Brice (Sgt. Apone of the Free army lol). Anyway, i've already said too much....A great listen if you want a few 'one liners' to giggle uncontrollably too ...... i'm not even gonna mention the identical twin sisters :) Hehehehehehe........Did I mention cheese?....Hehehehehe ....Great stuff :)

Great listening

This is a good SiFi srory to listen too, this presents great value too, for me this restored my faith in writers to take you into a total adventure right the way to the conclusion, leaving the way open to continue another adventure. The narrator was also good. Thank you .

A very unusual first person narrative

The first person narrative took a while to get used to but once I got in the swing of things I enjoyed it. It feels like it ended a few chapters early but did conclude at the end. overall very enjoyable.

Great box set!

This is a great series and listen to all 6 books one after the other. Loved the characters and lead protagonist. The narration I wasn’t certain of at first but Greg Tremblay is superb. The accents and switching from man to woman seamlessly and no cringing at the female voices. Thoroughly enjoyable.
