Story
Things are looking up for Jax, more or less. He's met a cool girl (who's a wisp), got some new friends (who're Dwarves and Cat people and Elves and all sorts), and started a war.... (Whoops!) Only thing is, they say an Englishman's home is his castle, and Jax's home is in ruins...this place isn't going to be any use in defending his new people unless he gets it sorted, and fast!

Jax is a pretty regular guy, has a job he tolerates, a girl he kinda, sorta loves...and he fights creatures from the UnderVerse in his sleep, leaving him covered in horrific scars when he wakes up. When his brother vanishes, and five years later he's kidnapped as well, he's given a stark choice by his asshat of a father: Go to the UnderVerse in reality, travel to the capitol of that ruined realm at the center of reality, and open a portal for the Noble Houses to return home...or die.

Story
When a freak accident ruins his body and his memory, Wes Malcolm loses his scholarship and his place in the world. Every treatment has failed, save one: a fully immersive VR game, designed by his late, disgraced father, that mimics the condition his body used to possess. To everyone's disbelief, his body and mind slowly improve, bit by bit, but it's still not enough. Then one night, he wakes up in a world just like the game his father designed. Here, he can grow, learn, and thrive.

Story
Miraculously, Alex had survived the crucible of combat and emerged victorious, earning the right to attend Dragon Academy. But his trials had only begun. For Alex had dared the unthinkable. A despised Ruidian entering Dragon Academy was an abomination the school’s elite would stop at nothing to destroy, eager to cripple or kill him if they possibly could. Even worse, Alex’s mentor was notorious for throwing his disciples into the thick of any conflict, no matter how unfair the odds.

Story
Sebastian Frost was a man with an interesting reputation. He’d killed 12 giants, eight heroes, a duke, and even a prince. But nobody ever talked about any of that. All they talked about was the deviant, disgusting, detestable Herald of Shalia that shamelessly laid with elves. That was because in the strange world based on game mechanics Frost found himself in, laying with elves was somehow treated like laying with animals. Naturally, they weren’t calling him Herald Frost the giant killer....

Publisher's Summary
A paramedic turned arcane warrior.
An unforgiving world that weeds out the weak.
A secret that will bring the Gods to their knees.
James has no idea why he was ripped from his life as a paramedic and transported to a strange new world with rules like those of a video game. But he knows he has to adapt quickly, as ending up in a spider’s belly was never high on his to-do list.
With only a vague quest, a mysterious brand, and promises of help from a cantankerous old lady to guide him, James must level up into the warrior this strange, yet beautiful world so desperately needs. New allies join him on his journey, as they venture to the Dwarven City high in the Crimson Mountains in pursuit of the first clue.
Can James figure out the rules of this land in time to save it from its prophecy? Or will the dark secrets contained in his mysterious brand consume him?

A bit too messy for me.
Lots of small inconsistency's with great feats of luck with little or reverse payoff with the MC getting led by the nose to every plot point that may or may not be important after a couple more chapters. The later half of the book is convenient af jumping from multiple different plot points doing crazy sh*t with the consequences being left to another day. The novel took a major hit from the offset because I rislike books about gods, after he meets the librarian is when the book hit 3 stars. The stat point system is jank as well. There is no balanced progression system with the achievements, different races and gods doing w/e the hell the want.

An ok book
Let’s start by saying the narrator did a fantastic job!!!! The MC however was horribly stupid and made decision that didn’t make any sense, this entire book has to be base off of pure luck. No way the MC could’ve done half of the things he did. Example: MC fights a spider wins then decides to take a nap right inside the cave he’s in. Then wakes up to find another spider in the next room. The things he did were just too much for me.

What a big let down
Where should I start...Jamey, there are so many things wrong in this book when it comes to the development of the MC it's like no matter what new skills he gets or how much he levels up he's always getting his ass handed to him, and what's with him killing people 100 to 200 levels over him and only leveling up by two or three...and why would you have this guy come to a new world with ADHD would that not be fixed in this new world...look I hated the MC and I will be getting my credit back on this book...

It's Alright
Author makes the MC a total idiot when he is making choices and it shows. If you want to see the real reviews, go to the Goodreads website. Amazon Audible pulls reviews for any books that have been returned. So so books tend to float to the top with better ratings because they are mostly positive and very skewed.

One of the best books I’ve ever read
This book has jumped to my top 5 . I can’t wait for the next in the series . The main character is extremely relatable and his internal dialogue is nothing short of hilarious. The story never feels lost even though it goes in directions you didn’t see coming. It never feels like your having the world explained to you, instead it feels like your learning about it with the main character. Really well done narration .

A good easy to listen to adventure book
The MC is not an OP superhero who doesn't always make the best decisions. He is a normal guy that finds himself in a new world. He has ADHD and sometimes gets distracted. He has been chosen by a God but doesn't really know why. He just tries to deal with his situation and make some friends. But it doesn't take long for him to find himself in trouble with machinations hiding in shadows.

Freakin Awesome
Loved this book, but I do love a daft MC. I thought it was a genuinely fun enjoyable listen, especially the narrators singing voice. Also, some one has an odly in depth interest in anatomy.
