The narrator voice took some getting used to in the first book but after that it is all good. I have enjoyed this series very much.

Best ever yet

So far the series is going great for a nerd like me. Forge in fire is so far one of my favorite in the series. The main character finally realize his true destiny. He understand why the great mother had chosen him to be given the gift of the mother. A true warrior that had been extinct now finally rise because of reason. To unite the entire kingdoms that was once split. To come together to face a common enemy. The past is the past, now will affect the future.

Not the easiest book to follow.

I fall to sleep every night listening to books. I have done this for 7-8 years. I set my computer to shut down after 20 minutes and the next night I will go back and start from the last part I remember. I found this book so hard to follow that most nights I couldn't remember where I left off the night before. I have never had this happen before.
The author did a poor job of fleshing out the characters and the environment in which they lived. He constantly introduced you to characters and/or magic concepts that were not only new but very difficult to even remember because he chose to use very difficult, long and unusual names. It just didn't work for me.
