Publisher's Summary

Harlow Bevans was a changeling mermaid working as a diving consultant for the Earthen Conclave. Then he came along. Charybdis. A serial killer who possessed her body and wrecked her mind. Now she's an inmate - patient - at Edelweiss Mental Institution. When a haunting song lures her to the scene of a brutal murder, the calm of the past few months is shattered. A fellow patient is dead, and Harlow is caught standing over his body by a mysterious guard who hides his own secrets behind a pair of aviator sunglasses her fingers itch to remove. Unwilling to be a pawn in another psychopath's game, Harlow sets out to discover the real killer. What she uncovers makes her a prime target, and the next song she hears could be her last. Curiosity may not have killed the cat, but it just might fillet the mermaid.

Harlow's story wasn't what I expected

Harlow's story was different than I expected. But the story was enjoyable. I'm glad she got her own book for us to get to know her better. I hope there are more books to come for Harlow.
I'm still very Disappointed in audible that there is no whispersync for "INCLUDED" books with kindle unlimited copy. This makes my preferred method of reading along difficult. This narrator does a good job and the whole story is told from Harlow's perspective. So no unannounced character jumping to be confusing if you multi task while listen to audio book like me. I mainly listen on the elliptical tread mill or while cooking. This one would be okay as audio alone.

i wasn't invested enough to finish. It just didn't feel like the characters were pulling me in anymore.

Really good listen

I usually don’t listen to this kind of book, but I was curious. I definitely enjoyed all of the Gemini series. I hope the story line will continue now that I’m invested in all the characters. Would love to see what happens next with everyone’s relationships

Good story

While the story seems to be interesting the reader seems to need more practice. She does sound young and I do better voices reading to my self so the story comes to life and can be envisioned from the words

Downer

Takes place in a scary ass mental hospital for supernatural folks. So far my least favorite book by this author.
