Publisher's Summary

Clayton Sanders left home the minute he had his high school diploma in hand. He waited that long only because the army wouldn't accept him without one.

Now, 10 years later, he's home, with no warning, no advance notice, no anything after being gone 10 years with almost no contact with his family. Home carrying a secret that is burning him up from the inside. A secret that has pushed him to the brink, forcing him to become a criminal in order to be where his family needs him to be, even though they don't realize it yet.

Because Clayton knows something they don't. Something that hasn't happened but will. Something that will burn everything it touches. And change the face of the world forever.

Made it to chapter 4

After listening to Odd Billy Todd, I wanted to listen to every one Reed's books. It was very good and I'll probably listen to it again.
The narration of this book is so awful I cringed. The production is laughable and I have no idea how good the writing is because...
I. Just. Can't. Listen! Thank goodness I can return this book.
I'm sorry, Mr. Reed, you need find another agent!

Narrator is slow

Great story. Narrator is slow and pauses in the middle of sentences. Gets annoying fast.

Worst narrator ever

Impossible to listen to, why anyone would do something like this to there book I will never know?
With all the great voice actors out there why pick the one how totally destroys all sentences?

Great addition to the genre

I am a big fan of this genre, I really enjoy books like this that take the time to go over how people got prepared, and not just jump right into the SHTF event right away, I will be buying the next book in the series right away.

To Audible.... You need to have a better way to look for books in this genre, this series never hit my suggestions at all, and this genre is the only genre I really listen to. I have a bunch of suggested books that I have no interest in listening to, or just read the actual book that always show up, there should be a way to say not interested in a book, so I can see different suggested books.

Excellent book Except!

I would have given this book 5 stars but the narrator Lee Alan didn't do it justice, unfortunately he cannot do a woman's voice at all and all the men Pretty much sound like the same person. As far as the story goes I was on the edge of my seat. Looking forward to the 2nd book but hopefully a new narrator.

Great story

Would you listen to Fire from the Sky again? Why?

Yes, likely when/if a second book comes out I'll listen to it again.

What other book might you compare Fire from the Sky to and why?

Its hard to compare it to other post apoc books, since most of the book is the preparation for the event. In this way its got a unique feel.

What about Lee Alan’s performance did you like?

Loved all the different voices and the people portrayed, some had me laughing out loud especially the old man and the president.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The group sitting round a fire during the event and the tablet burnt out and they started to get just a small idea of what the world was going to be like.

Any additional comments?

This book has some action, suspense, plenty of humor and some utterly hilarious people and scenes. Well worth a credit or money.

enjoyed this book

I enjoyed this book even though it wasn't what I was expecting. This book has some parts of action (fighting and firefights) but is mostly about how the main characters are preparing for and dealing with a disaster.

The narration was also good. The narration includes some minor extra effects which I feel like actually make the narration better and added to how some of the characters come across. This is unusual for me since I usually find extra effects to be distracting and a detriment to the story being told - not true in this case.

I was surprised, not in a good way

I bought this book because it was by the same author and narrator that wrote and performed Odd Billy Todd which by the way is one of the best books you'll ever read or hear performed. That's is why I found it so surprising that this book was as bad as it is both in content and in narration I can't explain it but DO read Odd Billy Todd ......do not read this one

Painful.

Skip this series and listen to Odd Billy Todd. Hard to believe the same author wrote this and OBT.

Great Story, awful production.

The story was fantastic, grade A plot and tons of character development. The production and recording quality was horrible. I have never been a fan of dramatized books but this was beyond bad. The narrator was fine but whoever mixed this has never listened on headphones. Having the narrator whisper, then elevate to a gravelly yell was a bad idea. When listening while driving was worse. The over modulation was unforgivable. If the same crew did the other books I will be reading them on Kindle. Just a poor job.
