Story
Clayton Sanders left home the minute he had his high school diploma in hand. He waited that long only because the army wouldn't accept him without one. Now, 10 years later, he's home, with no warning, no advance notice, no anything after being gone 10 years with almost no contact with his family. Home carrying a secret that is burning him up from the inside. A secret that has pushed him to the brink, forcing him to become a criminal in order to be where his family needs him to be, even though they don't realize it yet.

Story
By the most ludicrous of means, special ops soldier Clayton Sanders had a warning that something was going to happen to the world. Clay prepared for the worst, but just because you're well prepared doesn't mean everything is going to be okay. Clay has faced some of the worst humanity has to offer in all parts of the world, but now he is faced with something much worse than terrorists. His family.

Bandits. Forest fires. Cannibals. Material shortages. Family problems. Why had Clayton Sanders expected these issues and others like them to be absent from life at the end of the modern world? It had sounded good anyway. His plan had been simple: dig in, hunker down, and wait it out. And then his family had gotten involved. Now he has to defend his family farm from an old enemy of his father and prevent him and his army of miscreants from taking the very things Clay and the others need to survive.

Story
“No plan survives contact with the enemy.” An age-old idiom that Clay Sanders knows very well. In this case however, it's surviving contact with the people who are supposed to be on his side. Plus, the "Citizen's Committee" is still out there somewhere, there's a nutty "Reverend" working the airwaves into a frenzy, there are disgruntled members of the community sowing discord and strife, apparent rogue nomadic elements of some kind, cannibals still active in their area, and more....

Story
Having ended the threat of his father's oldest enemy and the group he controlled, Clayton Sanders believes he can finally put his feet up a bit and relax. Figuratively of course, since there is no relaxing on a farm and ranch. But some peace and quiet will be greatly appreciated and welcome. Too bad he won't get it. With the remainder of his old team on their way, Clay starts to think he might be able to breathe easier. Sure, they did say they were running from a big problem out west, but that's out west, right?

Doom. Devastation. Death. Destruction. It seems that no matter what direction he looks, Clay Sanders can see little else. He has tried to maintain at least a small oasis of safety for the people closest to him, but that bubble is constantly threatened by those who want it for themselves, or else want to deny it to Clay and his family and friends, even though it belongs to them.

When the pandemic hit, nobody was expecting it to be as bad as it was. The economy barely survived the lockdowns, but it staggered along until civil unrest shattered people’s hope of better times to come. With it being an election year, more and more Americans were waking up to the idea that they truly were behind the curve. The hope was if they did not get sick, run out of money, or could avoid violent mobs, they would be fine.

"The Suck" - the virus that claimed 97 percent of humanity - is gone. The arrival of other survivors with a different take on the future may be as dangerous as the virus itself. In the middle, with their hands on the scales, is a group of former soldiers and civilians who survived the virus in Antarctica. They’ve arrived to find a dead world, with no rules. The best-selling story of Jason, Pro, and Rachel continues where End of Summer, book one of the Seasons of Man series, left off.

Story
When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

It was a mysterious meeting that set life-altering events in motion, and the allure of a new life was too great to walk away from. Great Series, can't wait till the next book comes
I finished all 3 books in this series in less then a week, great story. Only thing that could have made it better is if it was narrated by Kevin Pierce, which by no means is a dig on Lee Allen, because he does a great job, but Kevin Pierce just does end of the world like no other.

Enjoying the Sanders family saga of post apocalyptic life
I have really enjoyed reading about the challenges facing the world after “the lights went out.” Life proves to be extremely challenging and clearly only the strong survive. At first I was not a real fan of Lee Alan’s narration but now I am convinced that he is perfect for this series. As listeners we should be willing to try new readers. If I had not taken a chance, in spite of several bad reviews, I would have missed an intriguing story of survival of the fittest and strong family loyalty.

Engaging Story and Performance
This series is very enjoyable. I have just finished book 8 so I am going to use this comment for all reviews. The story draws you into the family as if you are part of the Sanders clan. I was hooked by Odd Billy Todd and then the Parno books and honestly this series is now my favorite series of all time. Book one started off slow for me but by the end of book one, I was coming back for more. The author is truly a very good story writer. There are some slow points but what you think is a slow point will turn around later to be the background for the more riveting parts. It's hard to find good stories with characters you care about but not here. Some people have complained about the performance in some of the later books, hearing background noises and yes there are some but I miss the narrator as I am now on another book and I miss this series, I miss this family and even the narrator. I think it was an excellent performance, the old man's voice, Clay's voice, Brick, all the voices are very good. I highly recommend this series.
