Publisher's Summary
Paris! City of dreams - or shifter nightmares?
Natalie Brewer has come to Paris to live out a dream, not a nightmare. Then a vampire attack exposes her to a whole new side to the City of Lights - and to her own heritage. Before she knows it, she’s swept into a world she never imagined, with gargoyles, werewolves, and dragons who claim she’s descended from a legendary shifter queen. Now her life is in danger, and it’s impossible to know who to trust, other than the mysterious stranger who risks his life for her again and again.
After a decade in the Foreign Legion, all dragon shifter Tristan Chevalier wants is to settle into a civilian life and a new job. His mission: to prove himself to the Guardians of Paris and to protect the city. But all that is threatened when an innocent woman stumbles into his life - and into his heart. Being appointed her bodyguard is a blessing and a curse, because Natalie is absolutely, positively off-limits despite the smoldering desire they both feel. Worse, every shifter in Paris has set their sights on her, from bloodthirsty vampires to power-hungry dragons and jealous rivals. For Tristan, it’s the test of a lifetime, and the outcome will affect the fortunes of an entire city.
Anna Lowe’s Fire Maidens: Billionaires & Bodyguards series: A series of sizzling paranormal romances with adult content. Each story is a pause-resister packed with action, emotion, and romance! No cliffhangers. If you like smoldering hot shapeshifters, military heroes, and royal intrigue, you'll love these books. Great story
Natlie Brewer had dreams of going to Paris so she did. Everything changed when a vampire attacked . Who knew those things were real well she didn't. She didn't even know she had a heritage in her bloodline that was attracting them to her.
Gargoyles, vampires, and dragons oh my!
Tristan Chevalier's mission is to prove himself to the Guardians of Paris. Protect the city by watching the vampires and reporting on them but when he see natalie in trouble he can't just sit watch and report. Plus his Dragon has other plans for the little human that he is on board with.
Love the action, drama, mystery, betrayal, spice, and so much more this story has going on in it. The characters are fantastic! The story really pulls you in fast and keeps you interested. I really enjoyed reading this one and can't wait for the next story to come out about London and the next fire maiden.

I absolutely love this new mythology
This fated mate story in steroids swept me away to Paris and a new “world” that is so intriguing that I felt an immediate emotional connection with these characters. Natalie is just a normal American girl taking charge of her life and fulfilling a dream of living in Paris. Tristan is a war veteran coming back to civilian life as a protector for the mysterious Guardians. When they meet it is destiny and it is magic. But the overarching plot of the Fire Maidens also draws you in and it is hopeful even if they have to fight to protect humanity. Loved this action packed suspenseful romance.

Fun and Entertaining!
I listen to the audio version and the narrator did a good job. I do wish she had a bit more depth to her voice at times, but overall, this is a solid performance.
Exciting new series! Loved the premise with the whole fire maiden scenario and that the books in the series will take place in different European cities. Here's hoping for cities in Ireland and Scotland! This one is in Paris, and it was fun to touch on some of Paris' attractions. Natalie is surprised to learn that supernatural entities exist; vampires, shifters, etc., but she's even more surprised to learn that she may have more to do with that world than she anticipated. She ends up meeting Tristan; a dragon shifter, who helps protect and support Natalie. Unfortunately, old fashioned ideals get in the way of their connection. Also, an unfortunate, stuck-up supernatural gets in the way as well. The vampires aren't exactly making things easy for Natalie as well, so she's dealing with a whole lot. I love the whole mate connection, and Tristan and Natalie are really sweet together. I do wish Natalie felt a bit more for Tristan or that what she feeling came across better, but overall, they have good chemistry and definitely some heat between them. Entertaining adventure for Natalie and Tristan! I'm really excited to read the next book!

Great new series
I can already tell that this series is going to be good. Natalie met Tristan at the soup kitchen where she volunteered. While there, vampires tried to attack and kidnap her because of her royal blood (of which she was unaware). Tristan holds them off, kills one and gets hurt in the process. All this so she could safely get away. Then she returns to the scene and finds Tristan hurt and barely able to move. She helps him back to his apartment and stays with him because the vampires that escaped will be looking for her.
While at his apartment, Tristan and Natalie become very close. His dragon recognized her as his mate. He cannot protect her alone so he takes her to his superiors. We meet Liam, Marcel and Jakleen. Liam is so funny. Marcel is a privileged, power-hungry b@stard who feels he is entitled to mate with Natalie but Tristan was not having it. Jakleen was a real snobby b!tch who dated Tristan in the past (and would want him back). She is trouble with a capital T but not in the way I expected. Ms. Lowe excels at writing b!tches and b@stards.
There were quite a few moments where I was literally on the edge of my seat, dying to know what happens next, especially the scene in the tunnel when Natalie was being chased. You’d be surprised by who was behind all of it.
A lot happens in this book and Ms. Lowe has done a great job, as usual. Her books are easy to lose yourself in. With Kelsey Osborne’s narration and Ms. Lowe’s descriptions, you could “see” everything.
I highly recommend this new series and cannot wait for book 2 to come to Audible. I was given this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A love story set in the city of love
Book 1 in a new series by Anna Lowe . This new series is set in the city of love . It has a strong Hero . The details in this story are well written , the story draws the listener in. Anna wrote a story filled with all the different types of paranormals types . You will catch a glimpse of some previous characters.
Hero is Tristan. Heroine is Natalie.
It starts of with Natalie not knowing what her background is . She finds out what her powers are by accident. Once she finds out she comes from a very strong line , more powerful then any paranormal type . For that reason some people are after her .
Tristan wants a normal life , a quite life . He meets Natalie and once he does he wants to be her , that includes keeping her out of harm
Kelsey Osborne performance was great . Her voice is strong and clear .

Good premise but...
I struggled with this book. I don't know if it was the author or the narrator. The narrator made the heroine sound like a 16 yr old teenager. I know she's not supposed to be more than about 26 but still, 10 years can make a difference. At the beginning it was worse because the narrator didn't seem to have a good flow to her reading. It did improve some as she got farther into the book, but her voice made me halfway dislike the character. I just couldn't see this brave young woman with that voice.
Anyway, the story itself is a good story. I like the premise and mostly enjoyed where the story was coming from. There were places it seemed the author made the heroine a little immature with her descriptions and details. Basically, those points made me feel like I was stuck in a bad Hallmark movie. It was too cheerful or there was too much wide-eyed innocence, or it could have been the narrator. I think I'm going to try to read the next book and see if I prefer the print to the narration. That will tell me if it's the author or narrator I have a problem with.

The narrator is like an infomercial from the 90's
She's extremely overenthusiastic with every single word she speaks. It's ridiculous and almost humorous. Like she has a huge fake smile plastered on her face for every sentence no matter the actual tone that should be conveyed. Idk how so many people raved about her performance. It's nearly unbearable to me. I'm close to DNF.
The story could've been good, but the dialogue was really juvenile. Absolutely nothing was implied. Everything was spelled out in black and white (typically through dialogue) making all of their conversations annoying. The h was annoying and seemed dim witted. The H was boring.
Also the moment I her the heroine refer to herself as "plain 'ole me" I'm done. Needless to say, that happened here. That trope gets so old. Gorgeous hero who dates nothing but super models and the heroine is a plain Jane with no confidence. Over it.
Even the OW (which are usually written to truly get under your skin) is just annoying and childish in this.
I have no idea how this has so many good reviews. There was nothing special about this.

Entertaining! Ancient magic lore in modern Paris!
I really enjoyed this audiobook. It had a little bit of everything! Damsel in Distress? Check! Was she a strong, intelligent, courageous and compassionate character? Check! Military alpha hero? Check! A backstory that gives him dimension and vulnerability? Check! Paranormal activity? Check! Drama? Check! Action? Check! Chemistry? Check! Imagine all of that with a heavy dose of ancient magic lore and dragons.
Poor Natalie is only human but somehow she catches the attention of the vampires occupying the seedy underbelly of Paris. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say it is her blood that garnered their attention. Unfortunately, once in a vampire's crosshairs, chances of survival are greatly reduced. Unless the person should have a dragon shifter on her side and, unbeknownst to her, blood that carries an ancient and important secret guaranteed to grant her the needed protection.
This story is sweet and romantic. It moves pretty rapidly as the plot progresses, keeping the listener engaged and entertained all the way through. And the good news is that it is part of a series that has the potential to be very interesting!
This audiobook was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Shifters, biting and fighting.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book I've read by Anna Lowe, it's a bit different to what I would normally read. The storyline is good and the surroundings in the world are well described, you can picture it if you close your eyes. There are some really great characters in this book, and the main characters are very interesting and fun. I think apart from one guy who's name I can't remember, and obviously a certain female, I liked all of the people in this. The narrator is perky and does a good job, considering how rough this year has been. It's a book worth reading, one of my favourite things about this series is that each book takes place in different parts of the world.

“He would die for you.”
Wow! Fire Maidens: Paris throws the reader right into the action in the first couple of chapters. This book contains danger, forbidden love and destiny. Natalie’s trying hard to live an independent life in Paris when the mysterious Tristan saves her from danger. She then learns about the darker side of the Paris she thought she knew.
I loved the characters, the action and the romance in this book. The narration, as always, was brilliant.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, and I'm leaving a voluntary review.

Another winner
Anna Lowe has a way of drawing you into the world she has created.
This is another great start to a series of books which I look forward to listening to or reading.
Natalie never dreamed that when she moved to Paris she would learn that there was more to the world than she thought.
Tristan, a dragon shifter wants normality but fate has other plans, when these 2 meet and not under the best of circumstances the story begins.

Format: audiobook
This author has the ability to paint such a vivid picture that you are able to not only experience the sights and feel of the city but of the characters feelings and emotions too.
A great well written story with danger, excitement and plenty of passion with strong characters that you’ll fall in love with.
Can wait to dive in to the next book.

Awesome first book in series
Book 1 of the Fire maiden series by Anna Lowe
Natalie has always wanted to live in Paris and after years of saving she moved to Paris and started living and working there and also volunteer in a homeless centre.
One night Natalie was attacked by a vampire and saved by Tristan a dragon. That’s when Natalie is brought into the supernatural world and she finds out that she’s a Fire Maiden and has the power to balance the supernatural world in Paris and bring it to a new calm it only feels that way with a Fire Maiden living happily.
Absolutely loved this new series and I have a new love for Kelsey Osborne that not only have the talent to give each character a very individual presence but also had a great french accent as well.
Even though this book did have a HEA and a proper ending the bad guy and conflict was definitely left as a cliffhanger looking forward to more of this amazing series.

Fantastic Start to A New Exciting Series
This is the first book in what I think is going to be another great hit for this talented author. It is a standalone series which again features some great characters. This book is about Natalie and her Mate Tristan.
Natalie believes herself to be totally human, she has grown up knowing nothing at all about shifters or the supernatural world. She is in Paris because for years she has dreamt about the city and it has been her dream to live in it. She has found herself a tiny apartment, works in a bar and helps out at a homeless shelter.
But one night whilst working at the shelter she encounters two very different men, two men who will change her life forever! One is a vampire and one is a dragon shifter - she is about to see a whole new side to Paris. As she leaves the shelter she is attacked by four vampires and a gargoyle but is saved by Tristan a dragon shifter. They go home to his apartment in an effort to keep her safe and the next day she is taken to meet the Guardians of Paris and is told that she is descended from a powerful legendary shifter queen, that she is, in fact, a Fire Maiden and that she is the savior the shifters of Paris have been waiting for.
She is assigned a bodyguard, Tristan, who has returned to Paris after a decade in the Foreign Legion. His mission now is to prove himself to the Guardians of Paris and to protect the city. Being appointed as a bodyguard for Natalie is both a blessing and a curse, it's a blessing because he gets to be close to her and a curse because Natalie is off-limits, she is his charge and he feels way out of his reach.
But just because he's been told to guard and protect but don't touch doesn't mean that the smoldering desire they both feel will go away. When Natalie is captured by bloodthirsty vampires working in tandem with Jacquline, a power-hungry she-dragon she has to dig deep and fight for both her life and Tristan's. With so much at stake, they must win!
There is so much more I want to tell you but then I would spoil this book for you which would be unforgivable of me. What I will say is that I loved this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series.
The narration of this book is done by the incredibly talented Kelsey Osborne who seems to narrate all of Anna's books. She does a wonderful job of bringing this story and the characters to life.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
