Critic Reviews

"Find You First starts with a bang and ends with an even bigger one. Barclay is a terrific writer, but he’s outdone himself with this. It’s the best book of his career. I couldn’t put it down, and you won’t be able to, either. If you enjoy thrillers, this is the real deal. It never lets up." (Stephen King)

"A full-throttle powerhouse of a thriller - Linwood Barclay is in a class of his own." (T. M. Logan)

"Barclay has a knack for turning news stories or social trends into rambunctious black-comedy thrillers full of sharply drawn fools and knaves." (Sunday Times, Thriller of the Month)

"Fizzes along the entertainment highway...Barclay nimbly keeps the engine racing." (The Times)

"A relentlessly tense thriller...there's plenty of the sardonic humour that came to the fore in Mr Barclay's previous novel Elevator Pitch...the comedy enhances the edgy atmosphere." (The Times Crime Club)

"A fast-moving, high-concept thriller from the talented Barclay...a rip-roaring rollercoaster of a ride." (Daily Mail

"Another gripping thriller from bestselling master of tension Linwood Barclay." (Hello!

Once again a brilliant read

Linwood has done it again, I love most of his books and this one is no different. He has you hooked from the first page, so many twists and turns he keeps you guessing. I felt that when it all come together it happened quickly and I was left feeling it ended too soon, it needed to keep going just for a little bit and give me more about what happened afterwards. I probably just didn’t want it to end!! It did make me wonder during the book the likeness of certain individuals that have been in the spot light in USA for crimes against young women, except there was no mention of a prince! Great work Linwood keep them coming.

Terrific

I’ve never read any Linwood books so this was a pleasant surprise. Great characters and colourful scenery. I am going to look for more. I do have to say I’m partial to male narrators. Yes that sounds awful but I do.

Great book - I couldn’t “put it down”

This is the first book I have listened to/read by Linwood Barclay. It was really engaging from the first chapter. The storyline of the millionaire looking for his children seemed like a straightforward plot, but there are lots of twists that make the story really intriguing.

I shall definitely be listening to more Linwood Barclay books in the future.

WOW

I heard the synopsis through a radio advert but missed the Author’s name and the title. It took nearly a month to find the missing details but it was worth the effort. Amazing intricate storytelling, character development and plot twists.

Narrator is excellent as are his “voices”

I would highly recommend this book and will be purchasing another Linwood Barclay.

Entertaining

May not the best ever but a good, classic Lynwood Barclay. You know what you’re going to get. Good for walking the dogs!

Enjoyable but ...

Like all his books this is an entertaining story but unfortunately it's full of f-bombs and blasphemy. So if you, like me, find that detracts from rather than adds to a story, you are warned.

First, from this author, but not the last

Binge listened. Plot lines cleverly tie in, as the story advances, without glaringly predictable outcomes. Is it just me, or is there more than a passing similarity between Jeremy and a real-life now deceased socialite? Certainly makes what could be considered incredible more credible. Looking forward to further titles.

OK

OK, but a rather unlikely premise and a drawn out and predictable unfolding of events

Great story line

I did enjoy this and it was quite believable to start with but it became very unrealistic 3/4 of the way in. Still a good yarn.
