This was my first litrpg recommended to me by a friend and omg am I glad he did, Im big fan of anime with these concepts so when I was told that there was a whole genre of books about being to sucked into crazy unforgiving game worlds I was hooked. The story in this is absolutely amazing. Bout to start the second book can't wait!!!

The is like a RPG game. Can't wait till I listen to the next book in the series. The book was written and thought out. The author did an excellent job and it keep me hooked. The narrator was excellent with his different voices for each character. Loved the book and give it 5 out of 5.

This book had me at hello.
The audiobook (nick podehl) has the characters just right. (Specially muma). Quick humour, better fights and a gamers wet dream.
If you're into military scifi, fantasy and gaming, you will fall in love with this series and read it over and over.
Warning... you will buy the next books in the series and eagerly await the latest release, so allow time to immerse yourself in this ripper universe!

Love this series. Funny, action and great characters

I really love this whole series. Just like RPGs that I’ve played, the character/village progression mechanics suck me in and I want to see what can be achieved next. However, the progression updates do get a bit tedious, especially when there are multiple of the same type. I really like the story and the world that Kong has created, with the various races, factions, monsters and worlds. The writing is fairly simple and easy to listen to, but sometimes lacks nuance. Nick Podehl’s narration is masterful, demonstrating an amazing range of voices, but the way he pronounces the word ‘herb’ as ‘errrb’ really irritates me. Please stop saying it that way Nick. Despite the few negative points, it’s a really addictive, enjoyable series and I can’t wait for book 9.
