Cute love story. fake boyfriend/girlfriend stories aren't usually my thing, but this one pulled it off. I laughed a lot. And as someone who left a small hometown for similar reasons to Brooks (and consequently hates small towns), it was lovely to see how the four people grew to love the weird little place. Sometimes books are therapy.

That being said... I came to hate Paul and Ava. Their characters were inconsistent at best, but more likely they were just jerks.
