Publisher's Summary

Welcome to Evermore Academy where the magic is dark, the immortals are beautiful, and being human sucks.

My name is Summer Solstice and this is going to be my year.

Except, in the Everwilde, nothing ever goes according to plan. When the Spring Court heir joins the academy, he traps me in a cutthroat game of bargains and deception in an effort to ruin Valerian.

Worse, someone is using an army of darklings to gather magical items that could raise the Darken and change the fate of the Fae courts - and the human world - forever.

Forces are gathering. Sides are being chosen.

To stand any chance of saving humanity, I must finally accept the soul-bond with Valerian.

But what if he's not truly capable of love?

If you love listening about fated mates, enemies-to-lovers, snarky heroines, and everything Fae, buy this audiobook today and fall into this magical new series that's being called Vampire Academy meets The Cruel Prince!

LOVE IT!!

I have read my far share of romance novels. I had just finished a few different werewolf series and decided they were becoming predicable. I am new to both Audrey GREY & fae books but let me tell you, I LOVED IT!! There was so many twists and turns, I really recommend reading these if you are considering trying something different. I have listened to both the first and second books in the series and CAN NOT wait for the third to be on audible. I am certainly going to try more of Audrey's other books. I would love for this to be a TV series, I would love to watch it!! Also Vanessa is a great narrater, I really enjoyed listening to these books. I never write reviews this long so thats saying something.

Didn’t disappoint

Since quarantine started, I have been on a cheesy, YA, fantasy kick. I’ve read probably 60 books this year and this is easily in my top 5. Audrey Grey is a fantastic author, and Vanessa is easily my favorite narrator. As someone who has been listening to this genre nonstop, this book stood out. It’s very romance forward, but not overwhelming. I appreciate the action scenes and they aren’t overdone or too long. Mac, Ruby, and Eclipsa are some of the most well written side characters I have come across.

A stepping stone to whatever comes next

While there was a lot of humor in this modern fairy tale I found the heroine of the story incredibly annoying in her gullibility. Without spoiling anything I found the twist at the end interesting if not predictable. So I guess there's nothing to do but patiently wait for the next installment of the series and hope she redeems herself and turn into the strong female I think she's supposed to be.

Love this series!!!

I love this series so much! It’s such an amazing series and this second book is even better than the first one was. I can’t wait for the next book. I definitely need to know what is happening next in this series and to these characters. This book has a lot of feelings and also action to enjoy and figure out what is going on. There were a couple times I wanted to smack Vanessa and tell her to stop doing certain things but over all this was such a good book and definitely did not disappoint. This is a fantastic story with an amazing narration!

Even better than Winter!

I really enjoyed Winter but Spring is even better! I’m really impressed with Audrey Grey’s writing style and attention to detail. The character development is excellent and the secondary characters are so amazing and well thought out. The story sucked me in and I could not put it down. Narration was excellent and brought the story to life. Vanessa is a great narrador. I was totally shocked with the twists and turns. I loved the adventures, ups and downs, and action. It was a great blend with just the right amount of romance. Right now, I’m so annoyed with the new villain we were introduced to in this book. He is truly awful. I can hardly wait for the next book!

Just hit chapter 44

So I only leave early reviews if I'm struggling with a story. It's not so much of a struggle this time as it's more of a drag. The author amped up the sexual tension in this book which is greatly appreciated, however that seems to be the only driving force moving this story forward. Everyone wants to sleep with Summer. I get it. However there doesn't appear to be a central bad guy nor an actual goal the protagonists are heading toward. It's as if the author slapped a few fights in to get to the next sexual tension scene. The supposed antagonist appears to be there as a placeholder to focus on the relationships which makes me feel like his whole character is an afterthought along with every forgettable side plot. It's not a badly written story, but the substance is severely lacking. Lots of missed opportunities in this installment.

This book does not disappoint....

Damn, this book!!! This is the second installment in the Evermore series and definitely makes you coming back for more! Not to mention, how gorgeous is the cover? Yes, we get an explanation for it as well in the book. I like it when covers also make part of the story somehow. The narration is on point!! She does an amazing job again to give a voice to all the characters and the appropriate emotions. This book continues soon after where Winter left off. Summer, is back at Evermore for a new year and she is definitely on a tight leash cuz of all the incidents from her previous year. She is stronger and more of a badass when she returns for year 2....or so we have been told. I was a tad confused about her attending Summer court during her break but there was no mention prior to this or later as to why? However, let's just say, she keeps up ending in the middle of stuff either from her own choice or some a-holes not leaving her alone. But I like she doesn't back down and only gets stronger and more determined to get back at the fae who wronged her and her loved ones! Go Summer!! Kickass!! We have a new and despicable character Spring Court Prince Hellebore. He makes her life miserable along with her usual list of Inara and her passe. Dude is seriously messed up and he has an agenda. What? Well, you just have to read and find out ;) Lots of things are happening. She's still struggling with her soulbond to the Winter Prince. He is less of an a-hole here and is definitely keen on solidifying the bond she shares with him. However, Summer is struggling with her human emotions and wants more than just automatic pull of the bond bringing them closer. As the story progresses so does their interaction throughout the book. I wish there was more Winter Prince around but he was also missing for parts of the book. We do find out what he was up to. But it seemed he wasn't attending school like rest of the fae. I was a tad confused at times. I love Mack. She is definitely growing as a character as well. She is struggling in her own way but it is understandable. Her and Asher are cute but I would have definitely liked a bit more for them. Eclipsa, is badass and is definitely more in this book. I liked how she is helping Summer train and get better at it. Overall, I enjoyed this book. I would have preferred a bit more fleshed out scenes/details shown for certain things vs. being told --it happened x days ago. More showing less telling....works better for me. However, this book definitely kept you on edge as to - you know something is going to happen but you're not sure when and how....but know it is coming. Yeah, things happen and how they happen ultimately, leading to a mofo cliffhanger that I'm not sure how it will pan out. Some questions get answered. More pop up, of course. I hated some characters. Others were predictable and vindictive. We get to meet the Summer queen and jury is still out on her. We shall see......... Go read it. Then we can all virtual hug each other!!

Fantasy academy romance at its finest! (And funniest)

Listened to the audiobook and it was fantastic! The stakes are higher. The fae crueler. Valerian sexier. And Ruby... well, that little drunken sprite is hands down my favorite side character ever created.

as good as anticipated

Not surprisingly Audrey Grey created a riveting next installment to the Evermore Academy series. Vanessa does such a great job narrating that you just want to binge the whole thing in one sitting. The only thing I can find to complain about is the angst Summer creates by refusing to accept her Winter Prince as her mate. I do really like Valerian though and happy they finally decided to take the next step. Very soon after this my happiness was destroyed when Audrey dropped a big WTH twist that involves the Spring Prince. I actually don't hate the Spring Prince and enjoyed his character, but I would also enjoy him receiving some of his own medicine. The history of why he hates Valerian makes his actions slightly more bareable, but only slightly. I hate the idea of waiting so long for the next one!
