Publisher's Summary

Audiobook five of the best-selling Eden's Gate series!

After the turmoil in the Arena, Gunnar retreats from Highcastle and attempts to maintain a low profile while the heat regarding Reborns subsides.

Avoiding the human cities, he sets out to unexplored lands with guild mates and a potential new recruit. But when his Great Beast goes missing, a simple quest turns into a troubling chain of events that spawns several unanswered questions.

Why is Sora unresponsive? And why are dragons threatening the inhabitants of Eden's Gate?

The king’s health may be postponing Dryden’s plans, but Gunnar’s saboteurs might have disturbed something that could be even more devastating than a Bloodletter invasion.

Can Gunnar mend the thin thread that’s holding the world from falling into chaos, and after more than a month in Eden’s Gate, will he finally cave to the temptations of an elf?

good

would of been better if the narrator just used his normal voice when acting out the female characters..it was hard to picture them being good looking at all with the voices he was using 😂

I am done

I have been enjoying this series but the mc has reached a point where it is too painful to continue. In the past he came across as making bad decisions and justifying because it was just a game. Now he just makes frustrating decisions that he seems to know is wrong without any justification that makes sense.

sorry, for all those that keep following i hope it gets better.

The author has too much ownership of the MC.

All the set up for the eventual betrayal and seeing into the future though the abstract intervention of the game system is a little coddling to the MC. The MC constantly picks up on signs that the new guild member is suspect and its mostly done for the reason that they dont want the mc to look incompetent once it does take place. I never really feel like the Mc is in any danger or will make any meaningful progress in character. most of the conflict comes through relationships and his nightmares. It feels like end game content while the normal adventures are just going through the motions.

hopefully all this build up leads to something thrilling where the mc can let go and do something a bit selfless that doesn't end up benefiting him in someway down the line intentionally or not.
