Publisher's Summary

At long last, Earth has a handful of starships. Surrounded by Rebel Kher, Imperials, and the mysterious Nomads, humanity dares to assert our right to independence.

The interstellar community reacts harshly. In the eyes of our neighbors, we’re upstarts, dangerous beings who don’t know our place.

For the Kher, freedom can only be won through battle. War fleets arrive to instruct us, and Captain Leo Blake is again sent out to voyage among hostile stars.

We’re far from ready, but the time has come. It’s game on.

Such Crap / Trash

This is such a Horrible book, The first few books were really good then we got a bad one - Book 3. Book 4 Carries on with being crappy and even lowers the bar a few notches, This book is a dumpster fire burning feces. Blake who starts off the series being a tough but intelligent Man is now a indecisive little wimp - Snowflake. Aliens attack earth kill 3 million+ people, Blake talks tough about revenge and then He travels to the Alien planet and Nothing - He Wimps out, Literally, -- Paraphrase Quote -- "Oh well these Aliens were only doing what they were told to do" ........ We'll Just bomb the Empty Mountains and Hope they get scared and learn their lesson " --- ????????? WTF. Every Sub plot / ploy turns out to be Filler, Every Choice and judgment call Blake makes Leads to and Ends up being incredibly STUPID and causes more problems.. I can't help it, I LITERALLY want to use nothing but Foul Language to Describe how I Feel about this thing called an audio book that was written by someone who is supposed to be a professional --- Yeah right, Not professional in the least. More Like this Book was written by a 12 year old. Mark Boyett is AWESOME -- Thank You Mark for being a Wonderful Narrator... Do yourself a Favor and get away BV Larsons Audio books , I know you have to work and pay bills... But your better than this drivel that tries to pass for a "Story".

The weakest of the four books

Mark Boyett is an excellent narrator. Aside from that - The story just continued to get more far fetched with each book. The “Nomads” storyline is just plain ridiculous. And it’s gotten to the point that no matter what happens, you know there will be some surprise twist to change things . . . and then another surprise twist . . . and then another. And after four books, there’s only one likeable character, one that is ridiculous, and no character development of anyone else. Very disappointing.

Another great story in this series.

I really wish that these were a wee bit longer. however the narrator was as good as her always been, and he brings the story to life.

Original and Refreshing

One of the few books that you just cannot see what is coming. A rare quality today in a world where every event is forshadowed leaving the plot twist to evoke a yawn rather than wide eyed shock. Unexpected twists and turns that keep you hooked to the last sentence. Truly a great book and an intelligent author who knows how to make his story progress in a way that is on par with riding a roller coaster in the dark.

Entertaining

I enjoyed mindless space invaders and those who fight them. The naration is as much entertaining as the tale itself.

And then there is a time to move on....

Unfortunately this series is one book too many. As a Larson fan, this is very hard for me to say, but i think its time to move swiftly on.....

Format getting tired

I'm starting to get quite bored of the format of this series. Man gets into danger - > Man blufs/lies to get out of trouble - > Aliens back down.... Repeat several times.

Another great offering

B.V.Larson and Mark Boyett come together again in the next rebel fleet instalment. For the fans, it’s more of the same, the story continues and I haven’t been able to put this one down, two days and I’ve listened to it all. If you enjoyed the first three books then you’ll love this episode. Stroll on book five.

pretty good

a nice conclusion to the series but I was hoping for a bit more action. The method of wriggling out of bad situations became a bit tired and predictable too. still a solid book all in all :)

Annoying main character

You end up rolling your eyes at the main character, luckily he’d had a night class in origami or something. He always seemed to have knowledge of one thing or the other which got frustrating sometimes but overall the story was good

I love this series

Real Science Fiction. Space ships, alien species and the earth in peril.... oh and a clever rouge thinker. What is there to dislike? Well read too. Love it. So pleased I found this series and BV Larson.
