About this listen

Lucas used to delve dungeons. Now, he has to run one.

After Lucas dies during a freak explosion, divine intervention sees him brought back to life with the power to control a new dungeon.

There are just a couple of issues: his old body is bound to his dungeon, and the craziness of what he thought was his final act is only getting weirder. When he sees newbie adventurers entering his dungeon, though, he decides to help them survive and complete their quests.

After all, adventuring is a process, and someone needs to guide the rookies.

It’s an interesting listen. The protagonist is joined to a dungeon and can not leave so is making the best of the situation by leading adventurers through the dungeon. He is supposedly intelligent, but not proactive. There are some inconsistencies in the plot that provide small annoyances. It is obvious that the dungeon works better if he has access to more resources. In fact, just having access to one of everything would let it be duplicated in the dungeon. Yet he consistently says he has no need for money. He should be making a trade deal and asking for more items of everything.
I can only hope he works this out later.

Great fantasy story set in a dungeon

Gotta love Travis as a narrator, he really knows how to convey emotion.
These are the highlights:
- Good pacing, feels comfortable without getting old. Not always on edge, but has its moments.
- Good amount of stats, not enough to confuse, and some interesting mechanics with the ‘system’
- Likeable main character, smart and morally good, love the MC-side character interactions.
- Focuses more on story than balancing, not outrageous but can be obvious at times
- Mix of dungeon core and adventure, with MC actively involved with delves and issues outside his dungeon.

2/3 through book 2, love the series. Not one of the greats, but a solid and enjoyable listen! Definitely would recommend.

Good pacing, good book
