About this listen

Procrastination. Disorganization. Distractibility. Millions of adults have long considered these the hallmarks of a lack of self-discipline. But for many, these and other problems in school, at work and in social relationships are actually symptoms of an inborn neurological problem: ADD, or Attention Deficit Disorder.
Through vivid stories of their patients' experiences, Drs. Hallowell and Ratey now offer a comprehensive overview of one of the most controversial psychiatric diagnoses of our day. They show the varied forms ADD takes -- and the transforming impact of precise diagnosis and treatment. And, as successful professionals who are both living with ADD, they extend a message of hope and compassion to all listeners struggling with ADD in their own lives or in the lives of loved ones.
An enlightening exploration of a condition only recently identified, Driven To Distraction is a must for everyone intrigued by the workings of the human mind.

There are plently of newer books on ADHD but none cover all the issues of childhood adhd to late adulthood adhd. This book even contains tips on chapter 14 that are very useful for all ages. If you understand ADHD but want to know more for yourself or loved one this is a good read.

Informs you about ADHD through the stories of a wide variety of people with ADHD. This makes it both easier to relate to and more interesting to read. I also really enjoyed the voice of the older man reading and his subtle American accent (I sometimes find stronger accents off-putting).

The best book on ADHD I’ve read

The information in this book, as well as ADHD 2.0, has been life-changing. All concepts are clearly defined, and ample case studies are provided, most of which should be highly relatable to the perspective listener. The narrator is also fantastic. Sometimes I found myself forgetting I wasn't listening to the Psychologist himself.

Clearly presented information that answered many of my questions and really confirmed my suspicions and vindicated me when all my life I had been accused of things that I now understand word to a great degree, out of my control.
This book is an absolute must for anyone who has or thinks they have ADD/ADHD.

Excellent!
