About this listen

Sorcery: A Threat to the Glory of Istar.

Twenty years have passed since Beldinas the Kingpriest assumed the throne. His is a realm of unsurpassed grandeur and wealth, a testament to the mightiest age of the empire of Istar.

But evil exists in this great realm, threatening the peace and sanctity of the province. Beldinas must turn to his most loyal lieutenant, Cathan, for help. Following Cathan's lead, the Knights of the Divine Hammer strive to extinguish a foul sorcery that will stop at nothing to serve its own dark ends.

This book picks up years after the events of book one which I'd strongly suggest having read before tackling this novel as it features many of the same main characters so it is highly beneficial to understand their backstory.

Unlike the first book which is more about a religious civil war, this book is way more magic heavy and features a decent sprinkle of our favourite evil one, Fistandantilus. I'll admit a bias as this may be why I enjoyed it much more than the first book.

This book didn't seem to suffer the pacing issues I experienced with the first book and is a superior novel all around. This novel has earned a place alongside some the better novels of the Dragonlance series.

The narrator once again delivers a solid performance with the same theatrical style as the first novel. I have also declared this narration "Strum Free" as I didn't notice any glaring mispronunciations of character or place names throughout the journey.
