Publisher's Summary

Deathmatch is now a number-one best seller in postapocalyptic science fiction, number one in dystopian science fiction, number one in military science fiction, and number one in war fiction.

Humanity's most fearsome enemy is no longer death.

Alpha and Marsoc meet their match

Lurking in the bush is the dark shadow cast by the operators - a terrifying force every bit their equal in skill, ferocity, and sheer resolve...but utterly unconstrained by humanity, compassion, or brotherhood. Now, to complete their mission and save the world, the operators will have to pay with their lives, or their souls, or possibly both.

One troop descends into hell

Rolling the dice on a last-ditch plan to save London by retrieving the Kazakh's zombie-annihilating virus, Jameson leads his last best men into the dragon's den - an underground bunker home to the savage and hyperskilled Spetsnaz Alfa group. Getting out alive is a million-to-one shot - and then their real problems begin.

The Kennedy is burning

The world's deadliest maritime commando force were made homeless when their battlecruiser went to the bottom of the Atlantic. Now they're looking for payback - and a replacement nuclear-powered warship. But not only is the whole JFK in play - so is Dr. Park, his vaccine design, and thus the fate of the entire world.

Better every time

What can I say? This series keeps improving. I am impatient though and would love to discover the conclusion.

Awesome read and narration.

Pretty much one sitting

Any additional comments?

So I normally listen to Audible while I run. 45min. A normal story is a couple of weeks runs and a little extra while a wash up... not these.. not Arisen with Mr Bray reading. That's one early morning run and then all day listening. Thank god I started this on on a Saturday. Fantastic story's. What my mum calls Mills and Boon for boys.

Predictable

Any additional comments?

If it can go wrong it will go wrong. If this series ends with the mission being a success and everyone surviving that will be a plot twist I didn't see coming.

2 interesting characters, 156 boring ones

Its the same strongman hero story and gritty researched writing style that makes for a fun listen. It was really hard to not fast forward the lengthy inner monologues of so many new random characters. Also the book fritters around to so many locations and characters and even timelines that it becomes easier to switch off. But by far the worst thing about this book was the preview at the end which basic spoiled the entire next book. I'm done.

Frustrating narrative

This may have been a good book if it was bearable to listen to. Narrator sounds like a robot with zero dynamic in his voice, like listening to windows auto speech
