Story
Death cultivator Grady Hake thought his problems would disappear when he and his friends became members of the strongest gang on the prison planet, but all it did was thrust them into the kill-or-be-killed world of the Eight-Legged Dragons. As Hake undergoes the trials of his gang, he'll discover there's a deadlier force on the prison planet than the death cultivator, even deadlier than the Angel of Death, and it wants his soul. Learning to cloak his lethal Spirit attacks in oblivion might help Hake rise through the ranks, but it won't keep him and his friends alive.

Story
Gus is a henchman separated from his friends at his new job, a henchman on an orbiting space base. He's happy with the gig, and has no real delusions of grandeur. Well...small delusions, but he’s seen all too often what happens to minions that get too uppity around their supervillain bosses. His father had pulled a few strings and landed him a henchman position in hopes he could make something of himself. Before he's barely gotten used to the job, Gus narrowly escapes the base's destruction and is chucked at the planet below.

The start of something GREAT
I only heard about this from reading Mr.Baldrees FB post about it and I'm sooo happy I did. I started to get antsy halfway through because I knew it was almost over and I can't wait for the next book to come out! Trust me, it's REALLY GOOD.

Fun mesh of sci fi and cultivation
There are some diverse characters in this world which made for interesting interactions. The plot is original and I didn’t know how it was going to end. I’m interested in seeing more of this world. As usual Travis Baldree delivered a fantastic performance.

New and interesting
I came in with the description of firefly meets borderlands(the game)... it definitely had a similar vibe, but felt like something a little different and yet as good as both. This book is great, and my only disappointment is that I have to wait for the next one to hit audio. And there is a next one. I hope there will be many more in the coming years.

Creativity abounds!
A thoroughly enjoyable romp that somehow blends the open galaxy scale of scifi, the intense focus of cultivation novels and the tightknit group of adventuring in fantasy. It's a serious non-stop rumble with TB bringing each character's personality to life with his performance!
