Publisher's Summary

In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so strongly that she even became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women and why you never see new mum comics onstage but you sure see plenty of new dads.

The sharp insights and humour are even more personal in this completely original collection. She shares the wisdom she's learned from a life in comedy and reveals stories from her life offstage, including the brutal single life in New York (i.e., the inevitable confrontation with erectile dysfunction), reconnecting with her roots (and drinking snake blood) in Vietnam, tales of being a wild child growing up in San Francisco and parenting war stories. Though addressed to her daughters, Ali Wong's letters are absurdly funny, surprisingly moving and enlightening (and gross) for all.

Touching & witty

I laughed out loud. I cried. I was totally moved by this open and honest letter to daughters. It should be mandatory for all parents to write a book. Thanks for sharing Ali x

Insightful, Funny and Intelligent Memoir

Ali Wong provides a refreshingly blunt set of letters giving insight into the world of standup, and balancing being a working mother and wife. Addressed primarily to her girls, the letters provide entertainment and worldly advice for any woman on topics like childbirth, courting, and making a career, without sparing the gory detail! Full of laugh-out-loud moments, almost entirely unsafe for work, this is a memoir worth a listen for the series of strange looks you'll get laughing aloud to yourself.

intimate, authentic but layered with profanity.

It is a mildly amusing journey through her life's story. Ali is endearing and authentic with strong family values, her tenacity and success is to be admired, but be prepared for missiles of profanity. My favourite line about NYC "a rat giving birth on a homeless women in the subway".

My favourite Audiobook

This book is hilarious, touching and wholesome all in one. It made me laugh and it made me cry. An insightful read/listen into the world of new parenting and growing up Asian in America. Ali Wong is the bomb.

Heartwarming, funny, and wise

I never expected this book to reach me so far down into my soul and in particular the last chapter took me by surprise. I hope you enjoy it too.
