Publisher's Summary

Some days, all you need is a message from a stranger.

Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas. The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional.

Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect.

What she didn't count on was falling in love with the guy.

Getting a little tired

This is about my fourth Mariana Zapata book. I enjoyed the way she used emails at the start of this book to flesh out her characters and develope their relationship.

Zapata's seemingly only book format is the slow burn kind which can be refreshing, but for me, this being book four, it makes her writing style predictable and drawn out. Drawn out is one way to descript the process her characters go through on the way to the conclusion.

I didnt finish this book. Stop two chapters before the end. There wasnt much point. I know how Zapata finishes all her books and I'd had enough. Hope that she varies it up in future books and doesnt make a eternal rut for the reader.

Overall, a decent book with some minor annoyances and an ending that could have come sooner.

Quite a boring, repetitive story

I am generally a fan, have enjoyed the others, but this one did me in. 'Nuff said.

Started slow but then I was hooked

At first, I found this to be pretty slow going. At one point, I wondered if I’d even finish it. Then, all of a sudden, I was hooked & listening obsessively. I didn’t love everything, including Aaron’s possessiveness but overall, the characters were likeable. The narrators voices were easy to listen to. The epilogue was a little disappointing but I was happy to have some closure. Haha.

Truly delightful - slightly disappointed though

I really enjoyed this book. The development of the characters throughout the first half of the book through their emails and IMs was truly delightful. But I was super annoyed when they finally meet/start talking on the phone it’s no longer a dual narration. It’s just Callie. Why would you do that when you had Teddy Hamilton! He was so good as Aaron. It really took me out of it, particularly when Callie’s version of his voice had a really different accent. I kept waiting to hear Aaron’s (Teddy’s) voice. Anyway, despite that disappointment it was still good.

Another winner from Mariana Zapata

I love Mariana Zapata books on audio and this was no exception. However, I was a little disappointed that the duet-style narration was only for the epistolary format in the first half. When they finally meet, it’s just Callie. Overall though, I still enjoyed the book and would recommend reading before From Lukov With Love as Ruby talks a lot about her family – I did not do this 😅.

Ughhhh soooo good

Teddy Hamilton & Callie Dalton were **chefs kiss**
The combination of Zapatas words and their performance always makes for a great experience.

I had read/listened to From Lukov With Love and was excited to realise that Ruby had a book.
Absolutely loved watching Ruby's & Aaron's relationship grow.
Ugh, slow burn perfection yet again.

Dear Aaron

If you’re looking for a steamy romance, this is not it. But if you’re looking for a beautiful friendship that turns into love, then this is a perfect book to read. I read the reviews before I started to listen to this and I have to agree that the ending wasn’t as complete as I would have liked, but the author didn’t leave you guessing about a happy ending or how they felt about each other.
