Publisher's Summary

Stolen from her home at a young age and tormented for centuries, Elisabeta Trigovise is scared to show herself to anyone. Even though she has been rescued and is now safe within the Carpathian compound, she has lived in fear for so long she has no idea how to survive without it. She wants to answer the siren call of her lifemate - but the very thought terrifies her.

Before he found Elisabeta, Ferro Arany was an ancient warrior without emotion. Now that his senses have come alive, he knows it will take more than kind words and soft touches to convince the fractured woman that they are partners, not master and prisoner. For now, he will give her his strength until she finds hers, allowing the steady rhythm of his heart to soothe Elisabeta's fragile soul.

But even as she learns to stand on her own, the vampire who kept her captive is desperate to claim her again, threatening the song Elisabeta and Ferro are writing together.

Dark song

Another enjoyable addition to the series. The interaction between Elisabeta and Ferro was warm and exactly what she needed despite what the others thought. The ways that the vampires try to hurt the Carpathians are getting more technologically advanced so keeps the story line interesting. Well written and read.

A good read - back to basics.

I have enjoyed this addition to the Carpathian series. Christine Feehan appears to have returned to her original formula of a great novel with a suspenseful storyline magic, romance and a little steamy sex to round it out. I have been rather disappointed with a few of her last books as the emphasis has been on the very repetitive sex scenes with a little bit of story to pad them out. They made for a tedious read, which was a shame as I really love Christine Feehan's characters and various series.

Brilliant

The 34th Dark Novel is about Elisabeta and Ferro Arany. Elisabeta was rescued from the Master Vampire Sergei Malinov in the previous novel Dark Illusion. She had been kept in a cage and suffered the cruelty of Sergei for centuries. She is terrified of everything having been taught to be completely reliant on her former captor. Ferro must walk a fine line between giving her the protection she needs and not stifling her so that she can grow into what she was always meant to be. The song they weave together will be beautiful and consume them both. This is a true love story that grows through the bonds of trust as they battle vampires along the way because Elisabeta's abilities are crucial in this battle if she can just have the confidence to stand tall beside her lifemate. Another outstanding addition to the Dark World full of cunning vampires and ancient Carpathian warriors while being a steamy love story as well, a brilliant weave of all that is needed in an outstanding story of a cleverly crafted world that I am addicted to as each book is a story of it's own with another larger story running in the background. I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole.
