Absolutely loved it!

I'd read the book twice (in 3 months!) before I listened to this recording. I've been listening to it while walking to work, and it made my journey enjoyable!
The characters different voices and accents really give them depth and the sound effects give it so much atmosphere, that I could get lost in the forests or out at sea. Nigel Peever has done an incredible job, and I am looking forward very much to the sequel, in both book and audible format!

Well narrated and unexpected plot

An unusual story that was initially difficult to get into but later very enjoyable. The plot twists in unexpected ways which keeps you listening. Nigel Peever's rich voice brought characters to life, even those not human.

From Dark Oak a mighty story grows

An epic audio book which had me gripped from the outset and definitely didn't disappoint! I would highly recommend. It turned the fantasy genre on its head and it did it with style. I loved Nigel Peever's narration; he really made Sannox's characters come to life.

A third copy and for good reason

Owning a hard copy and a kindle version of this book should say something of the enjoyment I've had from the start of this series. There's something special to be had from a book that you know is good and get to enjoy again and again. This is excellent fantasy, with wonder, political and social intrigue along with much that is unexpected indeed. I urge you to give this a listen, here and now.

Outstanding can't wait for the second one

Having read the printed version of this book and loved every page, the characters the world it's self and how they interact and shape it. I was keen to listen to a audio recording of it and I was not disappointed, Nigel lends a gravitas to Jacobs work that makes it come alive out of the pages even more and guides you through the story like an old friend.

Can't rate this highly enough.

Well done and keep it up.

Very entertaining

I’m not a great fan of listening to books however gave this a go. I’ve previously read the novel as I love good fantasy and had read any Sanox before, however I took this on a recent flight to the states. This book is read so well, the narrator brings the right amount of light and menace to the story. If you like your fantasy give this a try, thoroughly enjoyable.

Man battles Man and the Forest

A saga of warring men and the forest fighting back when it is severely encroached. Matters of the heart and magical fantasy are explored. There is mans inhumanity to man as well his mistreatment of nature. I think the foundations for further tales has been written. The narration, characterization and soundscapes greatly enhance the listening experience.
