Publisher's Summary

Julian Savage was golden. Powerful. But tormented. For the brooding hunter walked alone. Always alone, far from his Carpathian kind, alien to even his twin. Like his name, his existence was savage. Until he met the woman he was sworn to protect.

When Julian heard Desari sing, rainbows swamped his starving senses. Emotions bombarded his hardened heart. And a dark hunger to possess her flooded his loins, blinding him to the danger stalking him. And even as Desari enflamed him, she dared to defy him - with mysterious, unparalleled feminine powers. Was Desari more than his perfect mate? Julian had met his match in this woman, but would she drive him to madness - or save his soul?

Narrator 's speed was inconsitent

What did you like best about Dark Challenge? What did you like least?

The story was great

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dara as she was very strong in her beliefs

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Sean Crisden?

He was very poor as there was times he would be very fast in telling the story and then he would be slow.

Did Dark Challenge inspire you to do anything?

Any additional comments?

Wow Oh Wow

Christine Feehan has wrote an action packed book with this one. Don't know where to start. Guess I'll just say You Have to Add this one to your collection... Fast paced, lovers, back history filled into storyline and action packed.
Sean Crisden did an excellent job, kept you handing on the edge of your seat.

Dark challenge

The Narrator was horrible his voice got on my nervous and he kept pronouncing Gregior's name wrong! But I love the book . Take the Narrator Sean Crisden off of your list of Narrator's.

Narrator was bland

Instead of keeping my interest- the narrator was putting me to sleep other than that the story was good

What you expect isn't always reality.

I loved this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. Desari (Dara) was a great match for Julian. Julian was such a chauvinist and totally underestimated Desari. I loved it when Desari showed Julian just how powerful she was. Their relationship was great. Julian trying to learn to live around Desari's family cracked me up so much. Their happy ever after made me smile. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it as I enjoyed that as well.

Love Carpathians!

This series is great! I love the uniqueness of the Carpathians, I love the fated mates thing, and I really just enjoy the world Feehan has created. If you like PNR and fated mates, you will love this series!

Narrated at lightspeed

A pretty good story, read super fast. With the 'pyres ya gotta have a little sex, BUT - I began to see why the Seanster reads these SO fast! These randy Carpathians just have to spill every tiny detail ad nauseam. I'm enamored of each fresh story about characters that I sincerely LIKE, but I'm with Sean, some parts we just go through super fast!

I tried to like it

I tried to like this series. I've read the first five books or technically listened to them. I didn't really like any of the narrators and thought that was the problem at first but even with a terrible narration I can sink into the story if it's good. I wouldn't call them bad but I just couldn't get into it. I feel like they just repeat too much of the same thing over and over. it starts to feel like they replete that carpathian's need to protect their mate every other line. We get it their mates are perfect and beautiful and made for them. I don't need every word of the book to remind me. it's sad because I like the idea of the stories. i like the characters. I find carpathian's as a different race fascinating. with this story I find it hard to believe that Gregory didn't come to help after he found out his brother and sister were alive especially now that he has a life mate and has his emotions back. If you like this type of story and are having a hard time getting into this one try the immortal Gardian series by Dianne Duvall.
