Publisher's Summary

Cut class. Kick ass. Save the frigging world.

When college sophomore Dan Marshall's life morphs into a hybrid of Penn State and a home-brew tabletop RPG adventure, he grabs his talking two-handed sword and hits campus, seeking gold, girls, and glory.

But even with two beautiful badass women at his side, how can a low-level barbarian survive when he’s pitted against a fraternity of gnolls, a dungeon full of nightmares, and an apocalyptic death cult bent on destroying the whole world?

Warning: Dan the Barbarian is an over-the-top adventure novel intended for listeners 18 and older. It includes explicit sex, graphic violence, a harem of gorgeous ass-kicking girls, and a foulmouthed two-handed sword. Listen at your own risk.

Good story

Only complaint is that the main character is an idiot for most of the story. He is redeemed at the end tho. 8/10 story. Narrator is absolute 100/10. Amazing!!

Curiosity Pays!

I will admit I got this book out of pure curiosity and was floored by it! Wonderful work Hondo! You know I am going to be getting the second book in a moment. You have approximately 10 some hours to get the third written, published and made into an audiobook! LOL - seriously though, this was a true surprise and I am so very happy curiosity won out. Look forward to reading a hell of a lot more of Dan and his girls!

Like every guy who has ever played D&D's dream.

First of all. I read the book before I listened to this one. I loved the book so it was a no brainer. If you have not listened to anything narrated by Andrea Parsneau this would be the one you would want to start with. She nailed every single character in the book for me and really brought them to life.

She nails Dan’s voice as the MC, college kid trying desperately to pass his classes and avoid the wrath of his crazy professor, to the seductive, and incredibly powerful duo of Holly and Nadia, and my personal favorite the foul mouthed talking sword Wulfgar. On a side note, I don’t know how she did it but Willis’s gnome voice was amazing!

This story and performance will leave you wanting more, trust me. I can’t wait for the second one to come out on Audible!

Meh

Story was interesting but author made main character incredibly stupid. And naming his sword/character Wulfgar? seriously? Lack of originality big time. Oh and his diety name is Crom... go figure...

Fun, adventurous story and excellent performance!

The characters were relatable and the adventure was compelling! Hondo balanced the story elements well, and Andrea's reading brought characters to life. Thank you both for putting in the work to craft this exciting tale!

Dan is the Man!

Ever wish that D&D game was real, or that you could fall into the action like the kids in the old cartoon? Dan does, especially with his least favorite professor actively seeking his demise, or the beautiful co-ed across the hall he can't bring himself to speak to tempting him. Then out of all of us, he gets his wish. Now there is no turning back.
Great start to a great series. At times an adult Harry Potter, in other times a throwback to early pulp fantasy adventure and the narrator will make your blood boil! Listen to this book!

Ruined potential <br />

I only read it because of the author, I really like her narration and she did an excellent job but the book was ruined by character flaw, Dan is soo dumb that I wondered why he was the main character, I felt like bashing my head when he couldn't connect the dots and the selfpity is too much to handle.
