Summary

Welcome to their kingdom....

I never thought I'd step foot in Royal Manor again. But four years later, here I am...back to finish my senior year at Royal Hearts Academy.

And forced to face Jace Covington.

My first friend. First crush. First kiss. The one I left behind.

Only—he isn't the same boy I gave my heart to.

This new Jace is as cruel as he is gorgeous. And he's determined to make my life a living hell. Along with the rest of his glorified family and crew of tyrants.

They expect me to worship the ground they walk on like everyone else, but I'd rather eat dirt.

If Jace Covington wants me gone...he'll have to try harder. Because I've never been the kind of girl to play by the rules.

Warning: Royal Hearts Academy is a new adult/high school series of standalones filled with drama, a touch of angst, and boys who are bad to the bone. Contains graphic language and sexual content. Recommended for mature listeners.

Heaps of tragedy, really well written. Angst, heartbreak, really poor communication, second / third / fourth chance all equals the last book I’d choose. Yet it was really good and I’ll be reading more of this author.

Loved this! Enemies to lovers, so much tension and she’s a bad ass! Teddy Hamilton is just the best MMC narrator!!!

The performance was great. The ending of the story felt a bit rushed, with some plot points not really being resolved. The writing was good except I didn’t like the sexist way they talked about women sometimes or the sexist premise that because a guy likes a girl then she is his regardless of what she feels and who she likes and I hated how her choice in the matter was ignored for too long. I didn’t like that part of the story because that kind of thing enables the sense of entitlement boys learn to have for girls, that just because they like a girl she then owes them something. It’s an unhealthy mindset many boys take with them to adulthood.

Didn’t like the sexist components

This was a different one for me. The blurb had me intrigued, but it fell short for me.

Dylan was a strong and confident FMC. I enjoyed her sassiness and how she wouldn't just accept what was happening.

I didn't really click with Jace. While I understood the background of his feelings, he didn't come across as a strong character.

The side characters really kept this book entertaining.

I read on Kindle and read along on Audible.
