Publisher's Summary

Six books in one.

Critical thinking can be defined as "finding out how to think better by enhancing one's thinking skills". People who are critical thinkers use the thinking procedure to evaluate, consider, reflect on, and piece together what they have learned or are currently learning. Unfortunately, much of everybody's thinking tends to be prejudiced, imprecise, uncertain, uninformed, or even sexist or racist. Since this ends up being significantly limiting, critical thinking is needed to improve its quality and value.

Book one: In this guide, you will see that you will get that chance.

Topics such as the following will be discussed:

  • The true meaning and definition of critical thinking
  • The main benefits (something you need to know to see the importance of it)
  • What critical thinking traits include
  • A brief historical overview of how this theory came to existence
  • Intuition and its role in making such decisions
  • Biases and contexts that require some heavy problem-solving skills
  • How people use justifications and various arguments to back up their statements

Book two: In this book, a wealth of information awaits you, including those important job skills of critical thinkers. Several ones will be highlighted that are specifically designed for certain positions. Hard skills, soft skills, and other critical thinking skills will be addressed. Last but not least, you will be enlightened with more insights into relevant reasoning, predispositions, and biases, the meaning of language and words that shape our thinking, and various other smaller topics.

Book three: Special attention in this book is given to emotional maturity and intelligence. Their meaning, importance, and the methods to develop those qualities are highlighted elaborately. In the end, another chapter is all about moral character, how people develop it, what it does, etc.

Book four: Logical thinking is something everyone tries, but only some succeed. Do you think logically? You may be surprised by the answer.

Topics include:

  • How people fall into certain patterns of reasoning a certain way
  • How rationality and emotions can contradict each other, but don’t always do so
  • Myths, truths, and logic related to stoicism
  • All the different aspects of logical reasoning you should know about
  • How people often deceive themselves and distort their moral compass

Book five: Fallacies are everywhere. Basically, people of so many different cultures, backgrounds, and upbringings reach the wrong conclusions because the way they reason is false. It makes sense. Life is complex. We all make mistakes. We all contribute certain consequences to the wrong causes, and we base our opinion on a myriad of assumptions, which are based on previous experiences.

Book six: In this comprehensive guide, your cognitive abilities will be put to the test. Deep thinking will be your companion as you study the topics explained and outlined in here.

For example, these topics are yours to comprehend once you go through the content:

  • Historical anecdotes of the concept of critical thinking
  • Objectivity, its usefulness and applications
  • Theoretical thoughts about the opposite: The clutches of subjectivity
  • What skepticism can do: the pros, the cons, and the conditions that apply

Whenever you're fired up about anything...

Whenever you're fired up about anything, you usually tell others about it. So, that's what I'm doing too. I recognized a lot of the important things the writer was talking about. Some things went over my head, but that's regular for any book that has actually been composed by a genius. I don't think the word "awesome" does this particular book justice. There needs to be a much better word, and I will keep looking, since it deserves something great to be said about it.

Huge and time consuming waste

This reminds me mostly of an overworked fluff school writing assignment written by someone who doesn’t understand the Wikipedia page they are plagiarizing. The only thing I learned from this is that Alex Houston can’t explain critical thinking if you give him 6 books to try. I used a credit, so no extra wasted money on it, but if audible could refund me the 20hrs I wasted I would appreciate it.

This the best audiobooks I have noticed...

This the best audiobooks I have noticed, which is why I am taking a tiny second to create a review about it. The 5 stars should really be 6 stars. Yes, that's it. You heard me. I think it's so good that it ought to have 6 stars. There were many things in this book that I didn't understand up to now. I am glad I discovered it. It was definitely worth my time, especially because I listened to it while I was driving to work.

If I would need to summarize it, it will be simply in just one word: Brilliant! In case you're trying to find a manual on this particular topic, get this one. Despite of the author's knowledge about the subject, the storyteller was still the aspect I was most impressed with. This is what really offered me on the writer's book.

I tuned in to this audiobook, and it was definitely motivational. I know I am definitely not the best of review writers, but this is worthy of praise. The author and storyteller have obviously put so much time and energy into these books. The very best parts of this book (I forgot which chapters) suggested the most to me. When I heard these things, I immediately understood I had made the best choice. This book spoke to me.

If I would have to outline it, it will be in just one word: Brilliant! The ideas from the writer made sense to me. This is a secret treasure. This audiobook...

This is a secret treasure. This audiobook includes precious information. Exceptionally good. That's what I think. I don't always appreciate any books, but this stuck out. And since it did, I started listening closely to it. It was some of the best time I spent, especially since I was doing some other tasks in the meantime.

Amazingly good. That's what I think.

Amazingly good. That's what I think. I wanted to say a thing about this book, and so I am actually taking the time to write a customer review. I managed to comprehend every thing plainly, not even if the storyteller pronounced the words properly, but also because the info in it contained new things to be learned.

I tuned in to this audiobook, and it...

I tuned in to this audiobook, and it was really inspirational. The narrator appears to be very skilled, and the writer understands a ton about the subject. I didn't stop listening until the end. That's just how much I thought of it. I was delighted to hear the proper articulation of all the words by a skilled audio book producer.
