Okay okay—Alexei, where the hell have you been all my life?! You’re telling me this man didn’t even look at another woman for 20 YEARS because he was waiting on his girl?? Yeah, I’m obsessed.
This mafia friends-to-lovers romance had me absolutely hooked from start to finish. I adored Alexei and Lara’s connection—it was intense, tender, loyal, and packed with tension. Alexei’s inner monologue? I was giggling with actual tears in my eyes. He had me SWOONING. Luna really delivered on the emotional depth and the spice (because wow… the smut? SO GOOD 🔥).
Lara did have a moment where I wanted to shake her a little with the whole “why wasn’t I invited to the wedding?” thing, but overall, I still really enjoyed her character and the way she challenged Alexei emotionally.
And let’s talk about the audiobook—Joe Arden and Angelina Rocca narrated this and Joe Arden absolutely killed it. The emotion, the delivery, the presence—everything was perfection. His performance added so much intensity and heart to the story.
Luna Mason knows how to write a mafia romance that hits in all the right ways. I’m obsessed with this world and these characters—definitely one of my favorites!
