How to turn pain to growth
The stories in the book are varied and relatable and helped me to not feel alone in my pain and recognise there is growth in spite of it feeling all consuming. There’s a great mix of implementation here so I felt I was really taking responsibility for my healing and a step by step doable process.

Useful advice, but very long winded
The core of the book is sound, using the principles of attachment theory to develop a more secure attachment with yourself. Which will allow you to be more honest with yourself about the relationship that has ended, and the reasons that it did so. However the book is aggressively heteronormative, mono-normative, and filtered through the culturally appropriated grab bag of ideas that make up the modern new-age movement. If you're a straight, monogamous by orientation, woman, with a higher than usual tolerance for pseudo-spiritual crap there is enough in this book for it to be helpful; otherwise I would recommend "Healing your Attachment Wounds" by Dianne Poole Heller which has the added bonus of being more than 3 hours shorter.
