Their ninety-two year old grandmother, Pippa, spends her day grumbling at them all from her mobility scooter.
With Robert intending to sell Ashford, it’s the Marley’s last chance to create some happy memories in their family home - and Allie is determined to make it happen... even if it takes a little Christmas magic! With the festive spirit in full swing, she might even discover a little happiness of her own...

wonderful Christmas story!
**I am reviewing the audio version of this book!**
I really enjoyed this story.
• The author weaved the tale in such a way, that the sale of the house felt like it was hanging over your head the whole time. I felt like a train wreck was about to happen. I felt for all the characters and found the book hard to put down.
• Their were also lots of gems of wisdom in this story sprinkled throughout.
• The narration was fantastic.
• A 5 star read for sure.

Great Holiday Romance
Where does Coming Home for Christmas rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my favorite holiday romance of the four or five that I read this season.
Any additional comments?
Although the storyline is predictable, the author did a great job keeping us in just enough suspense so that the plot development and conclusion were satisfying. This was a great, light escape into a world of merriment and family. Good for readers who enjoy cozy romances and want to get in the holiday spirit.

Not a romance for me
ZZZZZZ...oh hey thanks for waking me up for the review. This book could have been so interesting, but it gets lost in the drawn out story and confusing romance.
Here is why I say the romance is confusing. You have no idea which brother to route for. Allie starts off crushing on Robert, then later meets Kip, has a flirtation with hims and kind of dating , definitely kissing, the whole time thinking about Robert. This kind of thing does not fly for me in romances. I like one clear couple, no kissy-face of thinking about somebody else. It just smacks of cheating to me.
This would have been better as a simple fiction about the family and the internal struggle about selling the house. There were too many plot points to pick-up and it was very slow going.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Teri Schnaubelt, who to her credit kept me listening long after I was bored with the story. She has a terrific pace, she picks up the speed of the story as best she can. It was because of her I kept listening, even though I no longer cared what happened with these people. He voices were distinct and consistent throughout.
If you are looking for a holiday romance, this isn't it, but it might fit the bill as a fiction.
Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.

Silly And Juvenile
What would have made Coming Home for Christmas better?
There is nothing wrong with this story but it was obviously written for a "Young Adult" audience and should have been promoted by Audible in that category.
Has Coming Home for Christmas turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, but in the future I will certainly obtain more information to assure myself that the "reviewers" are not teenagers.
Which scene was your favorite?
None - am about an hour in and cannot listen any longer.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment to have wasted my money and time.
Any additional comments?
This book has way too much e-mail activity and the main character - "Allie" - behaves more like an adolence school girl in every scene and questions herself about "crossing" the line between employee and employer after each inappropriate action - on please !!

A very captivating read!
OMG! What a fantastic book! This book so so awesome, I fell in love with it from the beginning. What a wonderful tale to read at Christmastime too! I loved the voice for Robert. There was something alluring in that voice right from the start!
This is a book about a family that has lost their way and a house that has been home for generations, but is now, only a shell of a house! It takes a loving family to make a house a real home.
Allie Richfield accepts a new job as a house manager for the Ashford Estate. Ashford Estate is aging as fast as the family that lives there, then Allie hears the house is going up for sale. Pippa the grandmother has been fighting the sale as when she was ill she signed the house to all 3 of her grandchildren to keep it in the family. Roberts siblings sold their share to Robert, making him sole owner.
There is something about Allie and her presence that just makes people feel at home. While Allie is managing the Ashford home, the family members begin to feel more like she is family than a servant. Kip flips a coin with Allie to win 3 dates. While Allie goes on the dates with Kip, she feels a continuous pull towards Robert. And the story continues...
As a rule, I don't like to compare books with other books because if someone doesn't like the book I referred, they wouldn't like this book either, HOWEVER... Fans of Susan Mallery, Susan Wiggs, even Nora Roberts - I feel you will love this book just as much! I am very impressed with it myself as I intend to read this book again.
This is my first read by the Author Jenny Hale and it won't be my last! Ms Hale did a great job writing this tale. It has a great plot, light romance and lots of love of family in it. This book grabbed me from the start and I didn't want it to end. I did want to kick Robert and say what took you so long! The narrator Teri Schanubelt did another great job delivering this story to us. I just love this narrator and all her voices. She spoke clearly and to me seemed liked she captured all the essence this story had to tell. Such a good book! Kudos ladies <3.

What a Wonderful Listen!
Such an engaging Christmas story~very well written and expertly narrated by Teri Schnaubelt. Loved all of the characters but Pippa was my favorite~she knew her strengths and weaknesses and was also quite aware of her family's problems. Robert and Kip could be irritating at times but Allie was quite able to handle both of them. I actually felt I was at the Ashford Estate with the Marley family because the descriptions of the players and surroundings were so well crafted. Many valuable lessons of love, loss, forgiveness, and the true meaning of family and Christmas shine through in this tale. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A million miles away from literature.
So it was't as bad as 50 shades of grim but this was poor girl gets rich man by reason of her sparkling personality or good looks. Not sure which enabled her to pull the man but there was no indication of a personality so she must have been a stunner.
He just bought her a school, and a big mansion. Oh why can't I find a rich man who is single and handsome who just buys me a school and a big mansion............

Coming Home for Christmas.A beautiful story
If you could sum up Coming Home for Christmas in three words, what would they be?
Emotional, family love, romantic.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the different personalities of the character in this story and how Ally discovered so much about the people she'd began to work for with an honest heart and was able to try and bridge the gap between them for a last Christmas in their home.
What does Teri Schnaubelt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I think Teri brought the voices out of the character so beautifully that they felt like they came alive in my mind.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did some parts made me feel sad and other laugh and happy. I think this story takes you through lots of emotions throughout the festive season.
Any additional comments?
Coming Home for Christmas is a beautiful story about a family who are very different with each other and their last Christmas in their home. And their is a lot of love for family and a bit of romance too. So will all the family make it to the festivity and be together one last time? Or will differences force them to spend it apart? The only trouble is the family are set against each other by the coming sale of the property. Matters get even more complicated when Allie receives the attention of Kip, the playboy brother of her employer. Allie is stuck between the playful kip and serious, but incredibly sexy Robert, and only the elderly Pippa can help sort the problem. A delightful Christmassy read with a real family feel.

Awful
A story of a self obsessed, puerile, money grabber which is badly written, long winded and boring.
