Summary

Welcome to Floor Three, where the rules are made up, and everyone is cheating.

Jack finally has something resembling a crew capable of climbing the Tower, which is great timing, because finishing Floor Two first requires a few minor chores. Conquer a city no one has ever conquered, put down an immortal lich who's being suspiciously helpful, and hold onto power while every climber, faction, and opportunist in the Tower chooses this moment to start a war in Broken Moon City.

If he can manage all that, he gets to join a tournament on floor three as a reward! Definitely not designed to torture him for the entertainment of millions, run by a clinically insane gamemaster who's spent an alarming amount of time plotting creative ways to ruin his life specifically, and filled with an absurd number of competitors cheating at every possible opportunity.

In The Cheater's Tournament, where everyone is looking for any edge, his advantage is playing the hand he's dealt.

As always another great installment in my opinion.. fun and action packed without it feeling like I'm just being dragged through endless fights for the sake of a fight scene. plenty of funny moments and decent character arcs, only thing I still do not like in the slightest in Sam.. I really do not like him as a character...

I do wish there was more arena fights with the other characters though..

Looking forward to the next one!

another fun entry

Criminally underrated series. Lots of fun as always, with a fresh spin on a tournament arc, packed with action and great character moments. The narration was fantastic and really brought the story to life. If you've been considering this series, it's well worth giving it a chance. Highly recommended.

10/10 Would get CUBED again

It wasn't so bad in earlier books, but now the narrator has started to use the same choppy inflections at the end of every sentence whether it's narrating or performing as a character. It is breaking the immersion and annoying as hell.

Decreased narration quality
