Terrible book
The story wasn’t too bad. But the constant stupid humour and pointed comments to the reader was annoying, just plain frustrating and not the slightest bit funny .. but even a smile broke through the whole book and I could barely finish listening to the book.

I hate Zombies. So this book was great.
As I said I hate Zombies. The combination of the humor in all that zombie horror and things going right and wrong for the main character and the great narration by Michael Kramer it's a hit. Love both books and am ready for book number three.

meh..
I wanted to enjoy this, I really did... To do so, I had to ignore all the (many) "breaking the fourth wall" moments and childish jokes. How many times do I have to put up with "stiff. Not that kind of stiff you pervert." in one book? I'll be refunding this as soon as I can. The narrator was great with what he had to work with. I just... It is just not that good.

No surprises but entertaining zombie series.
Would you consider the audio edition of Chaos Theory to be better than the print version?
I don't know, I didn't read the print version. But I am a big Zombie/post apocalyptic/EOTWAWKI fan and this one came up on my Audible recommend feed.
What did you like best about this story?
I love supense/gore/scary monsters interspersed with humor. I liked the lead characters slightly sarcastic sense of humor and obvious observations. Made the story more entertaining for me personally.
Which scene was your favorite?
I am writing this review for both book 1 Chaos Theory and book 2 Conspiracy Theory.
I liked both equally, and am hopeful that book 3, which I know exists will also make it to audio. I don't know that I had a favorite scene, but I particularly enjoyed any scene's with Lynch, Shipp or Remo. I found them to be the best secondary characters so far.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, no extreme reactions, but I did smile a few times at the protaganist's wry sarcastic observations of various occurences. There weren't really any tense super scary moments in this series for me. Some gory descriptions, and a few narrow escapes, none that were edge of the seat.
Any additional comments?
Not my top favorite of the genre, but I did enjoy it very much and I hope that book 3 is available soon. The narration was also very good. My first time to listen to any narration by Micheal Kramer and I thought he was pretty good.

Good but too much penis talk.
The author talks about his penis way, way too much. When you read that, imagine a number of times you imagine as too many. Double that. Then double that number.
But once you get over rolling your eyes every time you hear a mention of the characters junk, there is actually some pretty good main character development and the book does avoid a lot of the cliches associated with zombie books (I didn't know this was a zombie book when I got it, had I known I might have passed). The supporting characters are stale, but initially interesting. The plot does keep moving and the main character is never some super well prepared individual, which is refreshing. The author didn't live out some tired fantasy of being the only guy who is prepared and ready for the zombie apocalypse.
The voice acting is superb and that is what kept me listening. Michael Kramer brought a 1940s radio play attitude to the narration and no matter what other flaws the book may have, he makes up for them.

a wonderful blend of horror and humor
Restucci weaves a wonderful blend of horror and humor. The story is interesting to listen to, although I don’t find a point or goal to the plot. It is simply a likeable group of survivors evading the undead. Michael Kramer as narrator did an excellent job. He fit the theme and tempo of this story so well; I don’t believe another could have done better. Three.point.five for the effort.

Fun story
A fun zombie tale that focuses on the characters rather than a ton a zombie gore (ok it as a bit of that too). The voice in which this story is told in his journal is great with a bit of humor mixed in. The story moves along at a good clip and keeps the reader wanting more. Overall the book was fun and I can’t wait to move along in the series.
