Summary

Elise is finally back above ground; but she's not home free just yet. The Gray family is still missing, and their situation is a little more complicated than she first thought.

The only one she can locate is Nick, the older brother, and he has been captured by the Blood Syndicate, an international crime organization headquartered in one of the most dangerous regions of the continent.

With a group of unlikely allies, Elise needs to dive into the jungle and help mount an attack on the Blood Syndicate to rescue her humans.

Meanwhile, Sophie finds herself stranded on an island with a mysterious, seemingly insane woman.

The story continues strong from the last book with well-rounded character development and a bit more emphasis on world building.

Another excellent production from soundbooth T.

This second book of the series becomes engagingly fun, funny, meaningful and serious all wrapped into one, and the serious moments have you actually sit there with dread and anticipation and usually when you don't quite expect it! (in a good way, so no anxiety for the neurospicy readers)

I bought the first book on a whim, and I thought "eh not bad" which didn't INTITALLY have me put the sequel high on my list to pick up, and boy do I regret it.

This second book fleshes out characterization a lot, enough so you become invested in all cast and characters arcs (thin though they may be).
the pacing felt good to me and we're seeing a lot of the world come out, right with snowbunny's evo and understanding of her powers with a lot more of "show, don't tell". Which is an improvement from a lot of litrpg books that drag their bad habits along with them in a series

Voice acting was excellent from all cast, and you can appreciate multiple voice actors giving their all since they have to spread themselves out over less characters, which made many of characters able to very clearly express themselves differently byt the way they spoke rather than just a silly voice.

Overall: I enjoyed this book more than i expected, and it surprised me enough that i wanted to occasionally stop doing anything intensive so i could actually pay proper attention to what was happening.
If you liked the first book, this one is better.

Good job Bedivere you mad B******* I'll be waiting for the third book!
